Preheat oven to 375.
* Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
* Beat in eggs, then milk and vanilla ( may curdle )
* Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture all at once and stir just enough to dampen dry ingredients. Don’t beat out lumps..
* Fold in berries or grease 12 large muffin pans halfway with batter. Place heaping spoonful of berries in center, fill with remaining batter. Sprinkle with topping.
Bake 375 for 20 - 25 minutes until mixture springs back when lightly touched.
