I have a wonderful nephew who has just enlisted in the army. He decided to go to school for Explosive Ordinance Disposal while he is waiting for his appointment to West Point. A very dangerous job. That in & of itself would be something to pray for but there is more.
The night before he left for boot camp he had a melt down. He confessed to his dad & his step mom that his step father had sexually abused him since the age of nine. When his dad told his mother & confronted the step dad, he confessed & of course blamed it all on her.
My sister has suffered phyical & mental abuse from this man & yet she is still thinking that she loves this man. She can't get it through her head that she is his victim as well.
She has kicked him out of the house but has not changed the locks. Both she & her daughter are in couseling. The counselor did say that her daughter shows no sign of abuse. One bright spot in this picture.
My brother has offered housing to them & she has accepted. She is just not sure when. We are trying to convince her that it needs to be now & she needs to pursue prosacuting this bastard.
So pray for them. No family should have to face this. But it happens far too often.
