Found out a couple days ago that my Dad has cancer of the pancreas - I guess this is the fastest moving cancer there is. He goes in Monday for Cumaden (sp?), Tuesday for a CAT scan to see how far it has progressed, Wednesday for radiation and Friday to see his oncologist for results and where to go from here. I guess they cannot do surgery. So please keep my Dad in your prayers and I am glad I am going to be home for Christmas. Thanks! Jackie xo Ü |

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. It is very much appreciated. My Dad is feeling well - not in pain - and lifting our spirits up (like he always does) when we should be lifting his. He is such a loved man - don't know of anyone that does not like him - he has MANY friends - and would give the shirt of his back for any of them. He is kind, giving, sweet and wise. Unfortunately, he has already lost 15 lbs. I am afraid when I see him Sunday I will burst out crying - he was always a big man. I am hoping my anticipation will keep me strong for him. I will know more on Friday and will be back here ASAP to let you all know what will be going on from there. Thank you again all of you! Jackie xo Ü |

Jackie, my prayers are lifted for you, your Dad and the rest of your family. The visit will be bitter sweet, but you can all build some comfort, hope and positive reinforcement for each other. Cry, laugh and be glad to be together. Never underestimate the power of prayer. We're all here for you when you want or need us. There are lots of broad shoulders here to lean on, take advantage of the love and comfort you can find here. |

This is the e-mail I got today from my sister and I talked to my Mom and one of my brothers - your prayers have worked! Hi all, I wanted to share with you all that my Dad no longer has cancer!!! I got a call this morning from my Mom saying that the oncologist had called and cancelled his appointment for today. The oncologist and his other doctors here and in Boston conferred and they all say they can't find the cancer. On December 1st, Dad had gone to Beth Israel in Boston for an endoscopic ultrasound. They did biopsies and we found out on December 11th that they discovered that he had pancreatic cancer (atypical cells in the pancreas and lymphnodes). On this past Tuesday, they sent him for another CAT scan and now they say the mass they had seen is no longer there. All blood test now also show no cancer cells. I called and spoke to the oncologist myself to be sure and she confirmed that all is well. They will follow up with another CAT scan in a couple of months just to make sure everything is all set but they said there is nothing to treat now so all appointments have been cancelled. God is good!!! We have truly received a Christmas miracle!! I pray that you all also have your Christmas miracles!! Merry Christmas! Apparently my Dad had gone to a healing mass after having gotten the first news of cancer - he is a true believer and has been cured! Some of you may not believe this stuff or understand it - all I know is my Dad no longer has cancer and it will be a very Merry Christmas! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers - you all have been so thoughtful and I appreciate it very much as does my whole family! Happy Holidays to you all! Jackie xo Ü | |
