Kai was born on the far Eastern main island of Japan to which he was given the name Anaiyu Rintaro Kai. This was under the Anaiyu clan, an aristocratic, high class Samurai family directly responsible for the protection of Japan’s emperors and their families. Kai was birthed by accident when his mother had an outside affair with a Hakken clansmen; a creature not unlike a werewolf, also under the control of the shogunate. This all ended when the Samurai clan led by Oda Nobunaga invaded and destroyed the Anaiyu family in an attempt to be the ones responsible for protecting the emperor. In the end, Kai’s family were all executed, but he was spared on the whim of one of Oda’s generals, to which he sold Kai into the slave market for a small fee to pay off personal depts.
Though born of half Hakken blood, Kai cannot transform. Unlike most of the Lupine species, Kai has a very slender form and his features are very soft throughout. From far to near glance, Kai would appear to be a young girl, also aided by his traditionally long, auburn hair. Though eighteen years of age, Kai stands only 5? and is slender enough that he could be mistaken for someone who was sixteen or younger.
Even in personality, Kai is a very shy individual. This was only pushed further after his capture and inhumane treatment in captivity. He possesses an almost feminine demeanor, which almost perfectly matches his physical appearance. It tends to be one of his burdens and embarrasses him easily. Even still, Kai presents a very strong will due to his family’s everyday life and how he was raised. This has posed a problem during his travels from Japan to the auction.
The few things Kai inherited from his “animal blood?is the ability to sense at a further range than a human and a speed beyond those of normal athletics. Combining these two skills along with his family’s traditional and well rounded Samurai combat training makes Kai a deadly warrior when given the chance.
