Nameko sat inside of a cage completely unsure of what was happening. "The last thing she remembered was that she was going to get a new master. She looked out to a crowd of people gathering at a stage wondering who it was going to be. Soon a man grabbed her leash and pulled her on to the stage. "Here we have a lovely neko. Her name is Nameko. She has been raised as a slave so she should not give you any trouble. Her last master has taught her how to do many things except how to talk and how to walk. Even though she can't walk she can stand up strait so she would be able to cook for you." Said the auctioneer as the man pulled Nameko up for her to stand. "Let's start the bid at 75 gold."
She was about to crawl to the kitchen when she saw his hand held out to her. She took hold of his hand and stood up. She walked with him to the kitchen and started to cook breakfast. Her walking had improved through the night but she still had a little trouble with balancing herself on two feet.
Seth was pleased with her progress she was getting stronger and though her balance was a bit wobbly she did well enough .Sure that she was alright he smiled "I will be back in a few minutes you go ahead and make our breakfast ." He wandered outside and picked flowers for the table and one to place behind her ear .A pretty pink carnation with a sweet fragrance.
Nameko nodded and had started to cook the sausage but didn't touch the eggs. She wanted to wait to find out how he liked his eggs cooked so she would not get in trouble on her first attempt. Once the sausage was done and put to the side she started to practice walking on two feet. She knew that her master wanted her to learn this so she had to try often.
He peeked in and watched her walking .She was still a little unsteady but she had improved and she was practicing .He put an arm around her and kissed her lips softly "You make me proud little one."
Nameko was confused about why he had kissed her but didn't show it. She carefully walked to the refrigerator and got out the eggs and set them on the counter. Looking at him she waited for him to tell her how many eggs and how to cook them.
He grinned "We should ahve two eggs each little one and then later after the kitchen is clean I will let you clean my office for I have to go out today .You will be safe here and I will know if you are not ."
She nodded and took four eggs then placed the rest back in the refrigerator. She scrambled the eggs hoping that her master would like them that way. As soon as the eggs were done he split the eggs in half and put them on two plates along with some of the sausage. She took the plates to the table one at a time walking on her free arm not wanting to risk droping the food.
She did well and the eggs were fluffly and looked to be near perfect .He waited until she sat then began to eat ."You are a very good cook little one ."
She looked at her master and smiled when she heard him prase her. She gave a small bow and started to eat. To her she was lucky to have such a kind master and she wantedd to work even harder to make him happy than she normaly would of.
After breakfast was over and the dishes clean , Seth led Nameko slowly to the study .He had a basket there already with dusting things as well as a broom and dust pan ." Now little one I wnat this room free of dust and the floor swept clean .I have a few things to do outside but I will check on you in a bit ." He hugged her gently and left her to clean .He wanted to see just what she could do on her own.
Nameko nodded and started to dust the room leaving the floor last. She started with the high up places and worked her way down being extra careful not to break anything.It took her a few hours to finish dusting the study and started to sweep up the floor slowly so none of the dust would get in the air. She worked slower on this since she is not quite used to walking on two feet yet. It took about an other hour to finish her job. She took a look at herself only to see herself covered in dust. She left the room making sure that she didn't leave a trail and sat down next to the door waiting for her masters return.
The room was spotless and Seth was pleased. Even he could not have done better .His new slave was a wonder and he was smiling when he found her at the door sitting ."nameko you have done a fine job and I am pleased.Come now and see what I have for you in the gardens to amuse yourself with when you are not busy ." he held out his hand to her and helped her up .She was getting stronger and better at walking he saw.
Nameko smiled and nodded as she stood up. She followed Seth wondering what could be more amusing than pleasing her master, as well as why would she not be busy.
As they made their way to the garden a swing was on a large tree .The rope holding it up decorated with pretty vines and the seat though wood looked comfortable."When you are working I expect the best , but I do not want you to just work all the time .Sometimes I want you to play or relax with me in the garden .Cooking and cleaning is what you will mainly do for now ." He smiled then and put her on the swing making sure she had a good hold before pushing her gently .
She was about to get off when he pushed her thinking he didn't want her on it right now, but before she got the chance she noticed how the swing moved and tightned her grip and curled up as much as she could scared that something bad was going to happen.
