IC
Loclov had barely turned twenty and he had travelled far from his homeland, he was barbarian, and in his society once the young warriors have become men they where sent out on an 4 year quest into the outer world to prove their bravery, fortitude and to test their training.

Loclov had short unruly Black hair, Intense Yellow eyes
chizzaled cheek bones and unshaven chin, his large hands were ruff, callused and scared, and his ears- mangled up from fighting but not distasteful. But despite this he was very attractive in a ruff sort of way.

He was armed hand and foot with a cutless accross his shoulders and a duel edged sword at his waist and was in a big dark green trench coat made of sea kelp, and Home-made decripid looking sack cloth shirt , frayed and faded blue trousers, held up by a tasseled rope with beads.

The pyro was moving through the forests, it was getting dark, he would have set up camp but something was following him... hunting him. Loclov arched his brow his brow when saw apple lying down at his feet, he glanced around his hand on his sword hilt... there wasn't any apple tree around here...!

But then it was too late for at the moment, he was swooped of the ground in giant net and thrown into an iron barred cage. Loclov snarled and quickly cut himself free from net and rose to his feet, his head high, back straight, his broad shoulders squared, his masculine chest rising and falling breathing as he stood with strength, statuesque like a stag on a hill gripping his sword.

Several Vampires approached the cage from all sides with ropes and long hooked poles.

Asgal the leader of he group grinned, "My, my he what a good catch, we'll get a good price for him... if he's healthy... show us your teeth mortal."

Loclov's yellow eyes glowed like the harvest moon, as he slid a dagger down his sleeve.

"By his eyes, I do not think he is human," Affliger commented. "do think he is a Pyro?" he asked but then gasped when he saw Asgal fall. Loclov cursed... he had missed the vampire's heart...

Asgal rose to his feet seething in agony "If he is then we're going to be rich..." he said grimacing as he pulled the dagger out of his chest, "There is only one way to tell," he gave a nod his servants, "Don't bruise him! I am want his looking fresh in market."

Loclov snarled as slashing the poles and cords of rope that they tried to restrain him with. Asgal cursed watching the young warrior destroy his equipment... he had been trained well and it was clear that they where going to get him this way without damaging him.

"Sedate him!" he commanded.

Loclov cursed when felt the sting of a dart in his back, he turned around only to catch the next in the neck....
The next thing Loclov knew was that was he stripped half naked soaking wet and shivering in the dark up to a wooden post his lean muscular arms spread out in tied into a crucifix position to give a full view of his body... (unknown to him, Vampires drew strength from there victims blood, if the victim is weak, old or sickly the victim will be less nourishing)....

The young pyro cursed when a pitcher of olive oil was dumped over him, "What the hell!?!" he snarled.

"Be silent," Asgal scowled, "We have a prospective buyer coming soon so rub him down good," he commanded, his servants. After a lot of cursing and threats on their lives from the pyro, the servants finished rubbing down the young warrior, Asgal nodded approvingly, and took a vile of a rich spicy masculine scented cologne and sprayed him a couple of times grinning, "Never fails,"

Loclov snarled, his oiled muscles flexing as pulled against his restraints.

Asgal grinned, watching the pyro struggle, "Don't you tire out, SHE will be here soon," he chuckled.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC

(-- this is just a little bit about my character- )

Pyrose are notoriously savage people.

It is believed, long ago that a berserker fell in love with a dragon, creating a warped aggressive people, with an undying warrior spirit and fighting instinct. The blood the courses through their viens, common in dragons, Is a scalding liquid fire, giving them the name Pyrose, meaning fire.
They are bred from warriors, not from men that stay silent to avoid conflict. Sadly, that is why nearly extinct... and a rare find for a vampire.

( .. ----- Being a Pyro his blood will be like a wonderous delicacy for a Vampire who could afford such rare and dangerous luxery - His blood will enhance the drinker senses, Strength, and any powers they may have for a brief period lasting as long as day or so before fading---- HOWEVER his blood will burn Extremely Badly IF they get in their eyes or skin...----)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh she can do pretty much anything she want to him---

---He's new character so I don't have a bio up for him yet... so he's about 5'9" and is 200 lbs of muscle.... so he is going to be very stubborn and will put up a good fight if your character is up for the challenge... lol.... just join =)

Krayta smiled. His will was strong. She liked that. She liked it very much. She did not care for a slave's magical or physical strength. It was Will that she wanted. Now that she had tested him to his fullest potential, she was satisfied. In the cold room, she clapped. The illusion disapeared. Loclov had his belongings restored, and would open his eyes in a blank room.

The place was not even really a room. It was just a void, a white space. Loclov would be healed of fatigue and any bruises. He would be alone in the room, except for Krayta, the real Krayta, who would be standing infront of him.

"Your weapons have been restored, but keep them sheathed," she said. Her voice was loud and powerful, but it was not threatening.

"You have passed all of my tests, Loclov of the burning blood and iron will. I congratulate you, and hope you will hear what it is I am about to propose to you."

Krayta stepped closer to him. Suddenly the white room disappeared and they were in her study. Along the walls were tall bookshelves filled with ancient lore, scrolls of magic, paintings of powerful sorcerrers and sorcerresses.

"For hundreds of years," she began, eyeing him sidelong, "I have been searching. If you were to go into town, you would hear them speak of Krayta, the most dangerous slave tamer that has ever lived. But I am not a slave tamer at all, contrary to popular belief. In the last two hundred years, I have been searching not for a slave, but an apprentice."

She turned to Loclov now, face-to-face.

"You can have anything you want, Pyro. Anything. All I ask in return is that you apprentice yourself to me. Think a moment! Think of the power, the glory that would come to you. You could return to your people as a lord of ultimate power! And I, I will have passed on my teachings. Besides, Loclov," she walked up to him and touched his cheek. "I may surpass you in years, but you are not the only virginal being of strength in this castle. Your children will not be born in chains. Share my bed," she continued, "and your children will lead the lives of the proudest warriors that this earth has ever seen!"

Krayta stopped talking now. She smiled, and opened a door. On the other side there was a plain room, with a normal bed, nothing out of the ordinary.

"Here, Loclov. Rest. Think about what I have said."

Letting Loclov choose between the study or the bedroom, Krayta left the room through another door, one that disappeared as soon as she was gone.

Loclov's eyes fluttered open in dismay finding himself in a white room and feeling very renewed... he looked about at the white cieling ... hell, guess I am dead, he thought. But as he slowly sat up what he saw standing in front of him was no angel.

"Your weapons have been restored, but keep them sheathed," she said. Her voice was loud and powerful, but it was not threatening.

The pyro looked down at his clothes, touching them, grinning as he felt a cold metal hilt of his sword, he hoped this was real, dam he missed the touch of steel.

"You have passed all of my tests, Loclov of the burning blood and iron will. I congratulate you, and hope you will hear what it is I am about to propose to you."

Loclov ran his hand through his short black unruly hair and glared at her, evidently holding a bit of a grudge, but not a big enough one to get a rise out him, though it was clear he wasn't too exited. He blinked and his head snapped side to side taking a double take, suddenly realizing the room had changed and muttered something under his breath.

He stifed not liking how Krayta was eyeing him,

"For hundreds of years," she began, eyeing him sidelong, "I have been searching. If you were to go into town, you would hear them speak of Krayta, the most dangerous slave tamer that has ever lived. But I am not a slave tamer at all, contrary to popular belief. In the last two hundred years, I have been searching not for a slave, but an apprentice."

He blinked, he tilted his head, very much intrigued.

Loclov looked at her blankly, and said nothing

Krayta stopped talking now. She smiled, and opened a door. On the other side there was a plain room, with a normal bed, nothing out of the ordinary.

"Here, Loclov. Rest. Think about what I have said."

As soon as she left. Loclov arched his brow skeptically, "Right," he remarked sarcastically rolling his eyes, He slowly got up and began curiously picking through the book shelves "Sleep with an elf," he snorted, "I must be still being tested," he growled in distaste. Though he found her attractive, taking her as a mate was the furthest thing from his mind. He hated her guts, he could stand being an apprentice, he didn't have like his master to be learn from her.

The Pyro became quite enthused, with all the books and quickly forgot about everything that had happened, he found the ancient lore very interesting, however the scrolls of magic he couldn't sense of set them aside continuing to read and pausing to look over the paintings. He didn't pause to sleep, he stayed in the study for hours on end reading. It relaxed him, and took his mind off things, it was amazing he had never gotten a chance to read so much before.

Krayta had been being truthful, for once. Every few hours or so, food would appear for Loclov in the study, hot and fresh, and always delicious. Whenever he finished reading something, it was replaced with something new so that he would not run out. However, as the day wore on, and then the following day and the coming week wore on, the reading would become increasingly difficult. In truth, Krayta had been surprised that the pyro could read, but was glad that she didn't have to start from scratch.

Loclov probably did not feel the passage of time, but it was several days when Krayta reappeared in the study. She walked over to the desk and sat on it, picking up and biting down on an apple that appeared.

"Well, Loclov? Enjoying yourself so far?" she spoked calmly, nonchallantly, as if he were a common house guest.

Of all the barbarians, Loclov was part of the few whom were more or less educated. He could have probably bought anything he wanted with just a handful of books, for in his culture, any for of literature was highly sought after, very rare and valuable. All his childhood life, he had been taught how to kill a man in about twenty different ways, read, write, do math. They where experts at coordinating attacks, or defenses because of their ability to communicate with one another. Whether it be by smoke, lights, messages on foot, carriar pigheon, or by arrow it was imperative they could read. Just as it was important to know how to do math for building structures, ballistas and cattapults or even for scouts to simply count and record imformation about the enemy.

Though, dispite the fact these barbarians were educated, they were by no means civilized, forks and spoon to them, were just another form of collateral.

She walked over to the desk and sat on it, picking up and biting down on an apple that appeared.

"Well, Loclov? Enjoying yourself so far?" she spoked calmly, nonchallantly, as if he were a common house guest.

Loclov looked up at her and passed her a script, that had strange symbols on it, "I don't understand this," He grunted, not exactly what to make of the script, it all looked like gibberish, he was fairly good and sorting out langauges too. He had learned many in his travels, yet he had never seen these symbols, and even some of the random wards and phrases he did get, made no sense. "What do tiger eyes and duck feet..." he paused at the word dragonblood, and quickly skipped over it, "Have to do with anything? What all of these symbols? it doesn't make any sense," he grunted again frustration on his face, it was quite obvious he was not familiar with magic or spells.

"Well, Loclov, I am quite glad you asked."

She took the tome from him and quickly checked the cover, scanning the runes for the title of the piece.

"Ah, it is no wonder you do not understand. This is a book of Earth Magic. You see," Krayta stood up. One of the bookshelves solidified into a chalk board, on which Krayta begin scribling.

"Magic is a very large title. There are many kinds of magic. As barbarian as you are, you have probably only dealth with Shamanistic Magics, or the invocation of spirits and such. Earth magic is much different, for instead of invoking the spirits of  living things, Earth magic invokes essence. It is a little complicated to explain, so let me see if can compare them for you."

Krayta pointed at the desk. There, she created a stone and a ball of water, which floated right above the surface of the desk.

"That stone is a stone, and will always be a stone. You can break it, grind it, burn it, but it will always have been a stone. That is the basis of Earth Magic. That water, while it is water, can be forced into any shape you choose. When the Shamanistic magicians practice their art, they compress and force the spirits into shapes they choose to command them."

Grianne returned to the book and pointed at the symbols.

"Earth magic, when written, uses specific symbols and pictograms to explain spells. That is because the basis of all Earth Magics are concrete and do not change. The symbols are a universal communicator."

Loclov arched his brow, everything seemed go over his head...

Though he didn't know it, pyrose were inherently uneasy of magic was because of they of the magic that dwelled in them. It was apart of them, they could feel, smell it, taste it, to them magic wasn't just a thing... magic was alive, magic lived in them, though most would deny it. Dragons were magical creatures, and their blood ran in every pyrose veins. It was the reason why they felt nervous around outside energies, no matter how big or small. His kind stayed away from all forms, over the years being hunted, unease around magic turned into an instilled paranoia, which clans told horror stories to their young warning them the dangers of it, do to the fact that, their kind have been hunted for so long... hunted by persons whom most often wield magic. This had a negative affect however, for many Pyrose though could read and write, were absolutely clueless when it came to magic... putting them in more danger.

The pyro did not understand a thing she said, when suddenly he felt the air thicken as if before storm. He looked up seeing the stone and water floating above the desk. Loclov yelped in surprise jumping back in terror and falling over his chair.

"That stone is a stone, and will always be a stone. You can break it, grind it, burn it, but it will always have been a stone. That is the basis of Earth Magic. That water, while it is water, can be forced into any shape you choose. Grianne returned to the book and pointed at the symbols.

Loclov wasn't paying attention at all he was standing out in the door way eyeing the floating rock and the water ball warily. Small sudden things like this scared the hell out of him.

Krayta made the water and the rock disappear and placed her hands on her hips. She looked sternly at Loclov, surprised at his fearful reaction.

"Oh come on Loclov. Such a big warrior, and you are frightened of parlor tricks!"

She walked over to him and lifted her hand, making sparks dance on her fingertips.

"The magic can't hurt you. It is part of you. Magic is a part of everything that lives and breathes. Magic is synonimous with life. I can do tricks and perform spells because I am master of my life. All of that crap," she pointed to the books, "is nonsense. People only draw symbols and speak spellwords because they cannot control their lives or their Will."

She tapped the side of his head.

"You have an enormous Will. With it, you can do unimagineable things. And none of it can harm you, unless you want it to harm you. Think of all the amazing things you could do with my powers. Remember the promises I made you, of power and glory."

She opened her hands, face up. She created flowers in one, then fire, and a mini-tornado. She created images, small dancing people, so many things that one could not even tell what they were.

"My magic is the simplest kind, yet the most powerful. All I ask is that you allow me the chance to teach you. Become my apprentice, and let me show you a world the likes of which you have never seen."

"Oh come on Loclov. Such a big warrior, and you are frightened of parlor tricks!"

Loclov looked down a bit embarrassed and said nothing. When he lifted his head, his eyes grew wide seeing the sparks in on her fingure tips. This time however he did not run, but it was quite plain on his face that he was at unease.

He grimmaced and flinched some when She tapped the side of his head. He wanted to run or hide, but pride and the knowledge that he could not escape her prevented him from doing so.

"You have an enormous Will. With it, you can do unimagineable things. And none of it can harm you, unless you want it to harm you. Think of all the amazing things you could do with my powers. Remember the promises I made you, of power and glory."

The air was thick with magic, although he maintained somewhat of a calm outward appearance, inside he couldn't seem to think or even breath he was so scared.

"My magic is the simplest kind, yet the most powerful. All I ask is that you allow me the chance to teach you. Become my apprentice, and let me show you a world the likes of which you have never seen."

"I, I, I" he didn't really know what to say, he declined he was risking being brutally sacrificed and bleed dry. "I do not wish for glory, I just want to complete my quest... and then find a quiet place in the mountains somewhere," he looked down, "I am just a simple man,"

"I am just a simple man"

Krayta looked disappointed. She let the sparks go away and she walked over to the desk. She sat against it, leaning, and crossed her arms, looking darkly at the floor, ignoring Loclov for a good while. Finally she spoke.

"What is your quest? It cannot be that difficult. Name it and I will help you accomplish your task. But in doing so, you will agree to be my apprentice and partner here in my home."

If only he knew what kind of power he might have, she thought. His Will was close to her own. He would be a perfect partner. But he still needed some emotional breaking and molding.

Loclov swallowed, for his quest was not so much to acquire a certian thing, but more a of a passage of time and the becoming. "I must be wonder the earth alone for four years, proving myself in combat and survival... I have only one year left... and then I will be a warrior..." he looked, knowing she wasn't likely to approve what he was about to propose, "I could return, in a years time... when I am a man," he suggested. This off course wasn't entirely true, for part of the quest was to find another like himself and start up another clan somewhere in a secret place in the mountains like his father's before him. He left the details out, that at the end of his quest, he would be married, having children and would not return under the pain of death.... this hardly would matter because he would be so far from Krayta's castle that it wasn't likely she would be able to find him.

Krayta did not hide her disapointment. She sucked on her lower teeth for a moment, thinking of another angle to approach this from. She wanted Loclov's apprenticeship very much.

"No, I cannot allow that," she said finally, firmly. There was no changing the fact the Loclov would not leave like that. "No. I am prepared to offer you anything but that." She said, looking him in the eye.

"Regardless of what you say, you do want the glory. I can tell, from the look in your eyes. You want the power, the honor that comes with it. Oh yes, complete your quest and you may be the leader of your tride. But learn from me, and you can become the leader of your race. Of many races..."

She paused.

"You could even destroy all the creatures like the ones that captured you, the vile Vampires. Their hell-spawned relatives, too. And even many of the elves you despise so much."

Loclov blinked, ...glory? ... he scratched his chin, he just enjoyed fighting a few tavern brawls now and then... no he didn't want glory, he wanted adventure, he wanted to travel, to him the world was already his and someday he wanted to settle down and have a life of solitude up in the hills. Why be a leader of any race at all, he just wanted a family, to teach his children what he was taught, to pass on his heritage.

"You could even destroy all the creatures like the ones that captured you, the vile Vampires. Their hell-spawned relatives, too. And even many of the elves you despise so much."

Loclov frowned, "But you... are an elf? what do you have against your own?" he asked, he despised them most definitely, but he had no wish to wipe them off the face of the earth. "I really don't see why you wish to take more than what you have already got. You have land, you have strength and security. Why do you want more power?" he asked.

Krayta laughed, and it came out like a bark. Her, and Elf? She hadn't been called that in a long time.

"I am no more an Elf than I am a Pyro. Any ties to a racial identity have long since evaorated. That can happen sometimes, although you will always be a Pyro, because you are so strongly bound to that thought. No, I am not an Elf."

Krayta looked up at Loclov from where she was leaning against the desk.

"Will nothing persuade you to stay here and train with me? I can also train your body, not only your mind. You've seen for yourself how powerful I can be. And trust me, if you were to see the large assortment of weapons in my armory, even a warrior like you would be surprised."

Loclov's eyes brightened up ... weapons... if he wished to escape, he would need weapons... he need to know how she worked... what was the limits to her powers. If he caught her off guard, weak he would be able to escape. He as she leaned back, he quickly caught his gaze drifting along her curves. He quickly averted his eyes, hoping she hadn't noticed. He opened his mouth, he but no words came out, eyes on her figure again, which was hard not to noticed the way she was leaning back on the desk.

The young warrior forced himself to stay focused, "I could ... s-stay ... awhile... I guess," he said, as he rubbed his neck nervously. "Um... how much of a choice, do I have in all of this?" he asked. Seeing he wasn't exactly allowed to leave anyway. He was a bit thrown, for though she was asking him to stay, while at the same time, making it quite clear she would not simply allow him to go waltzing out the front door.
