The SVAS are again running a major air show at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton in 2005, this time it will be held on Wellington Anniversary weekend 22nd & 23rd January 2005. With the arrival of the "Old Stick and Rudder Company" at Hood Aerodrome and their collection of WWI & WWII aircraft, as well as many other famous and interesting aircraft, the 2005 Air Show will be better than ever.
In the intervening years (the even-numbered years) we also aim to host an Open Day & short air display. The last one was held on 18 January 2004, during the Sunday of Wellington Anniversary Weekend.
However there are a range of other flying opportunities are available for anyone interested in vintage aircraft. The most recent was the Masterton Sesquicentennial air display held on Sunday 23 May 2004, as part of Masterton’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
