I have had a bit of time to catch up on developments and am now reasonably well up with the play.
First of all I want to make it clear my strong preference is to keep KNTB as an open board allowing anyone to join. Any breaches of the rules should result in the member concerned being banned. In the past we have had members here who joined after they had been banned from other groups (Lord Upminster is one example) and their behaviour here has been exemplary.
You will note that I have demoted myself to an assistant manager and that Backgrounddude is the new manager. Backgrounddude is actually me but I created the new ID solely to fulfil the role as a nominal manager. The only additional functions a manager has in addition to that of the assistant managers is the ability to delete the group and the ability to change any promotions or demotions made by assistant managers. In all likelihood Backgrounddude will never be required to do anything. That is what I am hoping for anyway.
So the effective management of the group will be by the assistant managers.
Now that Xtra has gone the membership here will increase but not to the extent of Xtra 2. Nonetheless since I want to keep this group as open membership it will be prudent to ensure that the group is well monitored and well managed.
So will all existing assistant managers please indicate whether they are happy to continue and will anyone who would like to volunteer to be an assistant manager please put their name forward. Thanks.

The above is a cut and paste direct from I posting I made on KNTB. The key point to note is that there is effectively no manager. Management of the group is in the hands of the assistant managers.
A few years ago I had a series of unfortunate events in my life and the end result was that my financial position was very shaky. Since I am now 57 years of age I figured that if I want to retire in comfort I needed to get my act together and accumulate a decent amount of funds in a hurry. In order to achieve that I have had to put a social life on hold and focus entirely on work. I have been working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week but decided to give myself Easter off to catch up on personal things. This has co incided with the unfortunate demise of Xtra News. Xtra 2 has picked up most of the old Xtra members but has a membership on application policy. I favour an open membership policy.  So it is likely that KNTB will pick up new members as time goes by. Good management will be needed to keep an eye on things. Since I will be busy again after Easter it is highly unlikely that I will able to offer much in the way of management - hence the need for a good team of assistant managers.
Currently the assistant managers are -
Tyga
Ash
Oswald
Robman
Brownie
Karey64
Kudy
Yoda.
I am awaiting confirmation from two of the above that they are happy to continue.
There may possibly be a vacancy or two for keen volunteers.

I have sent email messages to Kudy and Yoda. Regardless of whether they want to carry on or not it wouldn't hurt to have another one or two. I will be back to my busy routine after Easter but if the current management feel that there is someone suitable to add to the ranks then just go ahead and add him/her. Probably best if two or more a/m's make the decision though.
