Bloody hell - there is always something to watch out for. I just checked the links on KNTB and it is just as well that I did. There were several links posted all of them without permission and one was to a bloody porn site! I have left two only. They are to Kudy's pig hunting site and she had permission for that and the other is to Kiwis Digital Pix - that was posted without permission but we can overlook that since it is a pretty useful site with a reputable manager.
However, it really is just a matter of common courtesy to request permission to post a link so any links posted without permission in the future will be deleted immediately.
Perhaps it would be helpful to list the approved links here so that approved links are not accidentally deleted in future.

Porn?  Did the link contain info as to who posted it?   Just as well you checked it - if I had I might have had a fit and quit lol

THe link did show who posted it Karey - it was someone who is no longer a member - probably just joined to post the link and then left. Trouble with links is that anyone can post them. Just another thing to watch.
MSN will close any group that posts links to porn sites so we can put that one down to a VERY narrow escape.

Just checked my groups- they are all OK, but we will have to watch out for this on our open groups!

The posting of Links should really be restricted to management only BUT under the current system anyone can post them. I will write to MSN Contact to see if they can change thisn so that only management can post links.

Slightly embarrassed here. I just discovered that it is possible to change the settings in the Links section so that only managers and assistant managers can change the Links - so I have done just that. So anyone wanting to post Links can't post them without getting permission first.
That is a really good loophole to get closed!

I'm not a member of KNTB, but I'll give you a hint in relation to allowing members to post links, but being able keep an eye on things easily.  Go to your Email Settings and select the option to receive a Weekly Report on activity within your group.  The Weekly Report comes out each Sunday evening (occasionally Monday morning), NZ time and one of the things it always shows is changes to List pages.  It doesn't tell you what the changes are, but tells you which List pages have had changes made to them over the previous week just ended.  As a Links page is technically a List page, you will immediately know each week if any changes have been made to a particular Links page and can go and take a look.  It saves you having to constantly scan at each Links page.  In the case of XNC2, there are several Links pages covering various categories and the automatic notification with Weekly Reports makes it easier to keep track of changes.
