Sarah came home today against medical advice, it was a hard choice. Medically the doctors said she was fine but
wanted to keep her under obs one more night due to a low iron count. When talking with Sarah I was extremely
concerned about post natal deppression.
Sarah was in a room by herself, I had been given limited access, the bed was uncomfortable and she was really
upset and lonely. Sarahs mum is here with us so I decided that we could look after her here just as well and keep
her happy.
Thomas is now off the breathing machine and antibiotics but still in an incubator. The staff in the neo natal unit (nnu)
are fantastic and I wish I could buy them all a decent present each.
We had our first cuddle today and it was so cool, we are lucky with the nnu that we are allowed in anytime of the
day or night to see our little man. All we have to do is get past security which hopefully wont be a problem.
On an off the subject matter I sent Micheal Laws an email wishing him luck, blow me down I got one back from him.
As a parent I really feel for anybody in his situation.
Back on the subject the reason I had limited access to Sarah was because the nazi midwifes in the maternity wing
told me I was allowed to visit Sarah between 8am to 8:30pm but I was not allowed to bring our son to hospital
into the ward till after 2pm. As we are by ourselves I couldnt leave Samuel at home (he is 2 1/2 years old) so I
had to wait till my MIL arrived at 2pm before I could go in.
I just want to reiterate to everybody that the nurses at the nnu are awesome.
Enough rambling I am still tired and probably not making sense.
Thanks for all your kind words
