If you have read the suicide thread then you know my sister in law found her best friend after she had shot herself.

Karen's nightmare is Wendy is standing beside the fishpond and hands come out of the fish pond (lots of them) and try and drag Karen into the pines where she found Wendy.  The pines were Wendy's peaceful place.  The hands aren't attached to anything.  Wendy isn't involved in the dragging in any way - she doesn't do anything but stand there.

Karen has read the suicide note which is 4 pages long and sort of is coping with it all - she swings from one emotion to another, but I've checked that she understood that ANY emotion she feels is justified and legitimate.  She isn't feeling guilty for being pissy at Wendy when she is, and she isn't "not coping" when she misses her more than her own family.

But this nightmare is scaring the bejebbers out of her and she doesn't understand what it means.  If it is just her brain creating more horror, or trying to understand the moment of realisation when Karen realised she knew where to look for her (she expected to find her hanging and had run all over the large property looking in sheds and rooms for a noose).  Or if it means something else.

Do you, or any of your friends understand dreams or maybe can at least come up with a semi-plausible explanation that can offer her some peace of mind?

I can't come up with anything that doesn't sound like I'm trying to patronise her.  I tend toward the understanding of the "pull" and the hands representing Karen's psychic link, but I'm not a "dreams" person and don't want to dig a hole bigger than it already is.

Thanks Brownie.

Theres a cuple of things I can see .. one is the hands .. these can be negative or positive, helping or hindering and in the case of hindering, usually about feeling guilt on the hands.  The water is the emotions usually .. the water in the fish pond ..

Good luck

My feeling about this dream it is a response from her sub conscious and her conscious mind trying to process the many emotions and content of shock, which naturally anyone would expereince because we don't have any frame to reference this event with.  That it is not Wendy sending a message in the dream state.

Thanks Brownie.  That's sort of what I thought.  Her trying to deal with her suddenly knowing where to look, and just dealing with the shock as you said.
