National flip-flopped and adopted most of Labour's policies (and many policies from the Greens and NZ First that were brought into law) so I guess that is the greatest endorsement of policies you could get when an opposition political party decides to adopt most of them as their own policies.

So I guess it's business as usual with most issues....

Prediction?
They will gut health and sell it off  or at the least, try to charge for it - again.

They will fuck round with the national super under whatever guise it be, until it is again worthless - for the third time - and they will raise the age of eligibility to 70.

I dont know what they will do with Police - historically they have run it down while promulgating legislation that is unworkable in reality.

I hope they carry out their promises with regard to justice - I'm not holding my breath.

I hope they remove the divisive Maori seats as promised at some stage or other - again, I'm not holding my breath.

They have promised and will, I hope, modify the resource management act.  I dont want to see it removed entirely, but the practice of adding millions of dollars [if not billions] to national projects must stop.

Digressing slightly - one good thing to come out of it, is the Greens are no longer the tail that wags the dog!

I have more but I cant be bothered right now...

Oh year - I hope Key keeps his word and keeps that loathsome piece of work, Douglas, out of office - or indeed any position of influence.

Oh boy, have they been given a hospital pass.

National would have been better off in the long run to let Labour win this time round.

This government is going to have to make some very unpopular discisions that have little or nothing to do with the actions of the last government but may have something to do with the lack of action both here and overseas over the credit and banking laws. Those are areas where you really do need some restrictions or the greedy pigs will continually cause increasingly more serious boom and bust cycles.

Am I right or am I right?

I dont blame Key for wanting him at arms length.

I remember when he sponsered that American mate to NZ, who owned a bookshop devoted to homosexuality - including books devoted to the North American Man-Boy Association.
Hide has never forgiven Peters for exposing him!

I'm looking forward to the change.  I get a really positive vibe from most people I talk to about it.  Most were sick of the tailend parties wagging the dog too.  My mum, a real Winnie fan even voted National for the first time ever, just to get rid of Labour and the greens.  I was gobsmacked.

National Party Leader John Key has unveiled an economic management plan that will provide a much-needed boost to weekly superannuation payments.

Mr Key says National is determined to lift the incomes and living standards of all New Zealanders, and today's announcement fulfils a pledge he made at the party's annual conference in August.

"I'm also repeating the other pledges I made then.

"National will retain all the superannuation entitlements and eligibility rules that our senior citizens currently enjoy. We will keep this pledge and I will resign as Prime Minister, and as a member of our Parliament, rather than break it.

Mr Key says the pre-election opening of the books has been fully considered.
