Could you people please take a look at the new Group Guidelines page for XNC2 and tell me what you think.  It isn't yet accessible from XNC2 although it is hosted within the group.  Note that there are additional pages linked off that page.  Take a look at those as well, although one of them still has to be developed at this stage.  I'm planing to also create a couple of additional information pages linked off that Group Guidelines page and display information in relation to Passport and Nickname issues and how to solve some of the common problems.

There is also a new Games & Stuff page under development.  This will replace the current Game Pattern page and as well as containing a blank game grid plus rules, etc for the "Four in a row------Game" thread, it will also have links to all the game and competion threads in use on the group, as well as a link to a More Games Stuff page containing links to all the previous game and competition threads buried within the group.  I have already searched all of those threads out and bookmarked them before the General message board gets too big due to the recent massive increase in use (it was actually quite a mission locating them all).  It is proposed to use these pages to replace the Games Room message board that was created recently.  The reason for this is that posting links to games and competition threads onto a message board is a bit messy due to the fact that those links will in themselves get buried.  Plus, human nature being what it is, you will find that people will continue to start games threads on the General message board and that will simply make the situation even worse.  That is why it is better to keep all games threads on the General message board, but provide links to them on the new Games & Stuff page, then it doesn't matter where the individual threads are because one click on that page will open any games thread no matter where it is buried.  Edit tools will be provided so that any manager or assistant manager will easily be able to add a link to any new game or competition thread that is posted by a member.

In addition, I am creating a Thread Index page (it has already been created but is blank at this stage) and this will be used to access commonly used threads that are liable to be continually buried due to the greatly increased group activity.  This page will contain a link to a More Threads page which will display links to numerous other interesting threads that have been posted previously.  As with the games and competition threads, I have already searched out and bookmarked a large number of buried threads that are accessed on an intermittent basis or are of historic significance.  I will concentrate on providing links to threads that are regularly and occasionally accessed on the Thread Index page first, then I can gradually add links to the rest of the historic threads of interest to the More Threads page as I get time.

You will be able to use the above links to check the progress on those pages.  As they are completed, they will be indexed from within Xtra News Community 2 itself so that any member or visitor will be able to open and view them.

One further matter....due to the greatly increased activity on XNC2, the current pages recording group and thread milestones are likely to become inadequate within a few months.  So I am going to create a new setup within the group to accommodate this....probably the best method would be to expand the existing system, but index it in a slightly different way.  However I have a few months up my sleeve before that will become urgent.

As they say.....watch this space!
