~The Path~
Every Wiccan's Path is different in a way.
There are the traditional and the eclectic. Those that join a coven and others, who are solitary. There is always the online community for support, though. Wicca reveres both the Goddess and the God, equally, and they are both within ourselves.
Like the ancient Shamans we use chanting, meditation, concentration, visualization, invocation, dancing and music and singing in our rituals.
The shamans used the ordeal of pain, in that we differ. Actually, when you think about it, christians do the same thing with their prayer. It's concentration, meditation.
Nature is the biggest part of Wiccan Ritual. The alter, the incense, the herbs and candles and even the tools we use in the ritual all have some naturalistic meaning. The ritual allows us to achieve communion with the Goddess and God on a spiritual and natural level.
No Drugs, No Alcohol.
Knowledge is power, Wiccans use that to the utmost advantage. In communing with the Goddess and God, we can get to know ourselves more deeply than ever before. Wiccans also believe in reincarnation.
Unlike the Eastern religions, we believe that we reincarnate into human form, not animalistic or anything else. There have been studies in recent times of this reincarnation theory, regression therapy and dream therapy.
Don't you ever wonder why you remember things you've never seen or done in this lifetime.. You have done these things, in another lifetime, you silly goose. Wicca is also a magickal religion.
The spells and incantations are simply concentration on sending your energies out to achieve what you want or need. There's nothing supernatural about it, magick is a very natural event. That is what Wicca is all about.
Embracing nature, learning ourselves, making choices that will be positive and contributing to the world we live in.. Communing with the God and Goddess is the way we do that.
They are inside each of us and all around us. All we need to do is seek them out. Wicca isn't a religion that goes seeking members. You won't find us going door to door, our children dressed in their finery handing out pamphlets. You won't find us building huge glass cathedrals to worship in. You won't see us on televised Wicca TV, begging you to send in your last dollar to keep the religion going. We keep the religion going, we have for thousands of years.. We worship in forests, and meadows and beaches and our backyards. And mostly we worship within ourselves.
