Continue to do this until you feel the tension leaving your body. Focus on each breath - counting the sixes will help you to focus.
When you're ready, add the following exercise to your breathing.
With each breath you take IN, imagine yourself breathing in little white plus signs (+) through your nose.
With each breath you release OUT, imagine yourself breathing out little grey minus signs (-) through your mouth. You are giving yourself permission to inhale all the positive energy around you, and to release any negative or tense energy you may be storing.
Repeat this for as long as it takes you to feel relaxed, settled, and heavy. With each breath, feel your body getting heavier, and your spirit getting lighter.
When you're ready, imagine yourself in a small cottage, lying down comfortably.
Imagine you open your eyes and get up.
Go to the door.
Feel the doorknob in your hand as you turn it and open the door.
Step outside.
As you stand on the stone steps, one single sunray shines down and covers you completely.
As you walk down the steps, wrap yourself in the brilliant white light of protection and unconditional love.
See a cobbled pathway winding up a gentle slope in front of you.
See and feel yourself stretching - reaching your arms up high, stretching every muscle in your body.
As you look down to your right side, an animal comes up to greet you.
Acknowledge the presence of your spirit animal, and thank it for coming to accompany you on your journey.
Look at it - notice it.
Your animal friend begins to guide you along the pathway, twisting and turning until you reach the top of this gentle rise.
You see before you, the magnificent wonder of Stonehenge.
Walk up to the first immense stone pillar.
Touch it - feel the coarse stone under your fingers.
Press your cheek against it and again feel the texture on your skin.
Breathe in the wonder, and the history this awesome place has seen.
Feel its secrets drawing you to the vast grassy place in the middle.
Your animal guide stays outside the circle to wait for your return.
Sit down on the grass.
Feel each blade touching your palm.
Enjoy the feeling of history that surrounds you.
Look to your right and see a figure standing just within your vision behind one of the huge pillars.
The figure of your Guardian Angel steps out and comes forth to greet you.
Your angel has been waiting a long time for your acknowledgement.
Your Guardian angel has been with you forever, and knows you completely.
Ask for their name.
Ask them if there is anything you need to know for your journey.
Spend as much time as you like here in the company of your Guardian Angel's unconditional love for you.
Thank your Guardian Angel for visiting with you.
Walk back to where your animal guide is waiting.
Touch the huge stone monolith once more - savour the feeling of the rough surface on your skin.
Follow your animal guide back down the path, watching it lead you safely home.
Thank your animal guide for leading you today.
Hold the doorknob again, and open the door.
Step inside - go to where you came from and again lay down comfortably.
Close your eyes and focus again on your breathing.
When you're ready, open your eyes.
Make some notes while it's all still fresh, and please remember, if it didn't work the way you wanted it to this time, don't despair - it gets easier, and next time you may have more success. Don't give up.
