Awakening to Self
by Chrissy Ramsay (New Zealand)
From the England Conference

I'll tell you a story about getting out of a rut, shall I? This is a story about a frog. There was a frog hopping along the road and one night he fell into a rut. He tried everything he possibly could to get out of that rut. He hopped and leapt and leapt and hopped, but it came to no avail and in the end he croaked for his friend to help him out. His friend came, but to no avail and at the end of the day when the sun went down, they went home leaving him there.

The friends came back in the morning expecting to find the frog still in the rut, but he wasn't. He was out of the rut and on the side of the road croaking happily. "How did you get out of the rut," his friends asked. "Last night we tried every-thing to get you out. Whatever happened to get you out of that rut?" And the frog replied, "I had to get out. A truck was coming."

A truck was coming. Put up your hand if you realize that we are in these times now! We are changing them by being like the little frog and taking a giant leap in consciousness. A leap to change the belief of who we think we are and following what we know we are.

In the work that I do, I've noted over the years that there are three basic guides lines and five typical steps when people start to awaken to self or expand the self. These must be present before a person starts to take new steps to awaking to self:

TAKE a constructive outlook
Stand up for who you are and what you believe, along with the belief that you are spirit.

STOP looking at your self through the eyes of the world
In whatever areas you are being challenged, start looking at yourself through the eyes of the Higher Self
.
START making corrections immediately.

That is, identify what your talent is or your expansion of that talent is and start making corrections straight away. Corrections means letting go of the things that limit you and to stand up against those obstacles in those areas where you are stuck. These guidelines must be there before a person starts work awakening to self.

Five Typical Steps of Transformation

WE HAVE FREE CHOICE Though we all have karma to balance, things to develop and lessons to learn, we also have this other aspect, and that is that we live with free choice. We can make choices in whatever our situation is. In the moment, we can chose to respond in a different way.

Whatever you are now is simply an accumulation of every response you have ever made. Access to all knowledge, is actually through the Akashic records, including the know-ledge of everything that has ever been, and is, in the present. We can easily access that information through meditation. The point is that you do not have to be without the knowledge of your next step. Your higher self knows the answer to every question and has access to all knowledge of anything that you need to know for your journey. So it is important to awaken to self.

WE CAN WAKE UP Now, the second typical step of transition is that sometimes the higher self's memory has gone to sleep. We need to restimulate it by using tools such as, astrology, numerology, Mayan science, spiritual sensitivity, clairvoyance, to name a few. These tools can accurately describe cycles, psychological dynamics, qualities in an individual's life, representing one of the best primers I know starting the awakening process toward self mastery.

REDIRECT Redirect the emotions and the intellect, and support the vision you awaken.

PHYSIOLOGICAL ALIGNMENT The energy coming onto this planet is affecting our physical bodies all of the time. I find that as this Aquarian constellation of the planets is affecting us, we are being affected in our bodies all of the time. From my work with clients, I notice certain things about how we in general are responding to this expansion concept in the physical.

If it is a gradual process, then the body gradually, physically aligns itself and comes to assimilate this new energy. But if it is faster, such as, when people have great "aha" moments and suddenly their reality boundary lines are pushed back very, very quickly by spiritual experiences, I've noticed several common reactions that go on in peoples bodies.

They may feel trembling, sweats, broken sleep patterns and one that seems to be particularly common now seems to be exhaustion. And this exhaustion, I sense is coming from how we've been overwhelmingly extended during the Piscean cycle.

As this lower vibration is passing away with its beliefs, and as people are starting to awaken physically to their natural biorhythms, they realize how tired they are. It is as if we have been on a treadmill for so long that we have forgotten we're on it. Then this energy starts coming in, urging us to "step off the treadmill." We look down and think, "I'm on a treadmill! I didn't even know that I've been on it all my life." This exhaustion seems to be something people need pay attention to and to take time to rest.

REALIZE WE ARE SPIRIT We are Spirit, working on this planet. We are intentional creators. We make happen what we believe. What is happening around us is simply a mirror of the beliefs that we hold inwardly.

So those are the five typical steps of transition.
Looking at the emotional and intellectual alignment of awakening to self, I find that people go through a time of chaos. It's like the reality we have had of ourselves gradually has to diminish, while the new fourth dimensional picture of what we, as talent, increases. During that time we are kind of out of sync.

Explaining the struggle between the two realities, I think can be best illustrated by the story of Moses in the holy Bible—how Moses was called to fulfill his purpose to lead the children of Israel into the land of independence and freedom. It was no small undertaking for the Israelites to decide they wanted their in-dependence. In fact if the spiritual forces hadn't tallied to help them they would have probably been wiped out.

History tells us that what followed was the discord between the Israelites wanting independence and the Egyptians wanting to keep status quo. And the Egyptians should have won. In fact, they almost did. But the Israelite's steadfastness and perseverance allowed them to reach the place where they saw the promised land.

And I believe the analogy of the story is what we have. We have our own personal Red Sea that we have to cross and as we do, it is necessary for us to let go of the limitations and the obstacles that we carry in our deep psyche.
I see our awakening to self rather like a garden. We identify what our talent is, or the expansion of that talent is, and we plant it as we would a seed in the ground. We plant in the universal subjective mind, which is completely impartial. If we plant limiting thoughts about ourselves, that is what we will get. But if we plant the awareness of what our talent is or the expansion of it, and we give it the proper attention which is simply belief—we will reap a crop of fulfillment. Releasing repressed limiting emotions is just clearing a lot of needless intergenerational memory to make space for new. When the old stuff is complete, we are free to live anew as spirit, knowing that all things synchronistically happen because of our beliefs. With this self-awakened expansion, we are open to new ideas, impulses, intuitions all bringing us a new world, new millennium of freedom and rewards as a beloved expression of spirit.

I'd like to quote something that one of my clients gave me that I thought was rather lovely. She made this comment about the last stage of her awakening to self, and said of her ongoing transpersonal evolution, "I see myself on the top of a building I have just climbed. I pause to look at the great view before heading to the next one. All of the buildings ahead to climb are tall, but I am told, you don't get much of a view climbing small buildings."

Bless you in your own personal climb and thank you for the opportunity to come to England to speak as a part of mine.
