This is a "method for Prayer and Meditation to help you connect with your guide".  This will work for everyone.

Before sleeping.....Clear you mind....Close your eyes and take deep breaths.....breathing in through your nose....exhaling about 6 times...till you feel relaxed and your mind is clearer and your are relaxed.

Meditate lightly: Imagine yourself in the most appealing place that you can think of for you.

Imagine a meadow on top of a mountain...waterfall trickling.....grass soft as a cloud....surrounded by flowers and trees of every beautiful color.. See your place in your minds eye. 

Then Pray for God, the Holy Spirit to surround you with their Protective, Loving Guiding Colorful light feel the warmth of it....see the brightness reflecting through the sun and off the colors surrounding you Ask that you be given guidance on your path for you and yours. Give your problems to God and Ask for guidance in specific areas in your life.. and of course give thanks....  then..

With Total Faith and Openness that this will happen for you Ask that you be shown in your dreams the answer to a problem, your wish to see a loved one.

For the Astral Travellers....ask that you be allowed to Travel to wherever you wish ..focusing on where that would be and what you would like to do.  If you are still unsettled.....not quite ready to drift off ask God again to surround you with his Protective, Loving  Guiding Colorful  Light..breathe gently....see your "Place" see yourself there and feel and visualize the light surrounding you and the warmth and comfort of the white light.

Very important to believe without a doubt....with Faith and Trust in God that this will happen.   

Then the HARD part......PATIENCE....you may not dream the first few times.....may not see what you expect to see....but realize you will only be shown what God wishes you to see in His Time....when he feels you are truly Open and Ready.

Don't give up, if you don't dream.....you will at the very least wake up feeling more rested and  peaceful. Your faith within you that you are being guided will let you move on in a Positive Manner....you will instinctively know through your Intuition what is important...what to deal with and how. Trust your Intuition when it tells you this.....this too is a message of guidance from God through your guide to help you.

You will be able to let the negative things go, forget about trivial worries or desires for things realize they aren't really that important....be willing to accept what you have...and are given.. Negativity within you will hold you back and feed on itself, tell you that the situation is hopeless it is Self Defeating and can not help you in any way. 

Trust your intuition and always make a conscious effort to move on in a Positive Manner if you feel yourself slipping....say the words from your meditation. Ask God, Holy Spirit to surround you and yours with their Protective, Loving Guiding Light... keep these thoughts first and foremost in your mind and you will be guided through your Intuition on your path.

Everyone has a Spirit Guide/Guardian Angel....assigned to them before birth......some will receive more guides as God deems they are ready and need them. You will also have "the spirit'" of a lost loved on around you...can be many....sometimes even someone you don't remember before they past on....or someone  you had not met! 

Speak to them as if they are there, ask for help, guidance.....then pay attention to what you feel and what your intuition tells you...You will realize things "pop" into your head making what you must do Clear to you, trust this to guide you.

Pay very close attention to what you have dreamed.....upon waking....Write it down quickly or you won't remember. 

Then concentrate on the dream what you were shown and what it means to you....relates to...how you feel. The symbols in a dream. 

Seeing a lost loved one...smiling, doing something is "them showing you they are happy and wanting to help you.  Some symbols are unsettling...scary like hearing a Gunshot!  sounds very threatening however, this simply means there is an issue in your life that you want to end....resolve, etc.

You will also by using this method to be able to ask God to ask the Holy Spirit to allow you to connect with a lost loved one, follow the method with total Faith and Patience and you will see a loved one in your dreams. Their psychical body dies but their light and soul lives on they can come to you when they feel you need them, but you must be open and receptive to having them.

Visit you in your dreams....also they will through your heart and intuition guide you, let you know they are there. Every thought or memory of them is their connection with you.They too will help to guide you on your path. 

Those who are meant to see their spirit guide will see their guide in a Form that is most appealing to them, many see their guides as animals (Wolves, Deer, Owls, Bears, Ants, Cats, Dogs, Turtles, Ravens...) This is their guide whom they communicate with telepathically. The guide's Form is also unique to each person.

A guide's true form is LIGHT...... a Ball of light.....a Flash.....a Streak, this is them getting your attention. The colors are usually White, Blue or lime green/yellow.....and are very bright and translucent.
