Hi Everybody! It is almost midnight as I sit here posting this. I had planned to post a lot more but I simply must get to bed if I am to have any energy to get me through tomorrow. I  probably won't have much time to post tomorrow but hope you all have a day that gives you lots of happy memories!

Hi Pain, hope you make lots of wonderful memories today.  Memories are something we take for granted, like air, water and TURKEY!  Wishing you and your family an absolutely perfect day!  Wish I was there.  Maybe one day, huh?

OK, I had to run Kitten out of Paint Pro so I could have the computer to catch up on e-mail and post some. Here's what our menu was this Thanksgiving. I vary it from year to year.
turkey , stuffing, gravy-made by my husband
cranberry salad-made by my husband
brussel sprouts-made by my husband
wheat and white dinner rolls--and little turkey butter pats made by Kitten
honey glazed carrots
white niblet corn
sweet potato bake
make-ahead mashed potatoes
green bean & sweet onion gratin
brandy chocolate pie
cherry pie-made by my older daughter
My older daughter also brought a tray of cookies, brownies, etc. she made and I made snacks such as lil sausages, cheese & crackers, olives, etc, and had a shrimp tray.
It was an exhausting but delightful day. Since our oven is so old and takes longer to bake, we all tended to snack too much while waiting and weren't all that hungry. Plus, both my daughters weren't feeling well and my 6-year-old granddaughter really wasn't feeling well, had been sick for several days. But, she looked so pretty. Her mom did her beautiful long blonde hair in a french braid and had her dressed all in black velvet with pearls. We had some unexpected guests drop by too. While sitting at the dinner table, I looked up and saw our herd of deer on our front porch looking in through the glass doors and munching on pumpkins.  If the doors had been open, I think they would have just walked on in and eaten at the table with us. My older daughter took some pictures of them. If they turn out and she sends me some, I'll post them. I tried to get Kitten to get our PenCam and take pictures but she didn't want to.Any other time she would have run to get the camera. Oh, Lisa, I wore my new beautiful sweater and black Cervelle leggings. I loved that sweater so much I also bought it in the green and  the aqua when they went on sale. I think the aqua came today, although I haven't opened the packages that came today yet. So, that about covers my Thanksgiving day. Let's hear about all of yours.

Brussell Sprouts????? The horror!  The horror!  Everything else sounds delicious though.  What does Kitten use to make the butter pats...candy molds?  I made a cherry pie too, but it had a cheesecake layer on the bottom.  Quite tasty.  Then I made the mince pie, of course.  Cousin made a wonderful apple pie...mmmmmm.  Made a sugar-free pumpkin pie this weekend and gobbled the whole thing.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2 days.  Heaven!

Gotta go finish off the mince.  Ain't life terrible?  LOL!

My husband is the sprouts lover but I like them too. I have special little rubber molds for the turkey butter. And, then I put them in the cutest little gold domed butter dish. I don't know why I waste my time with all the fancy stuff though. My family won't even use the fancy linen napkins, always ask for paper ones, say they don't want to ruin the good ones. I put out knife rests too but they don't get used. I used all my gold charger plates and they wanted to know what they were for. Actually, I think the purpose of charger plates at one time was to help keep the food warm. I don't know, perhaps it is just me, but I think sitting down to a beautiful table seems to make the food taste even better. Just seems like it makes the meal even more special. Boy though, does it ever create tons of extra work for me!!
