Hello. Barb here for Vickie. First of all I need to tell you she misses her psp groups so much. She is miserable trying to find things to keep her occupied. PSP has been her life for the past 4 years. She went to the opthamologist last friday and was told she definitely does need cataract surgery. She is scheduled for it on November 13th. They haven't given her a time yet. If they get a cancellation for an earlier date they are to call her. She is so upset she has to wait that long. Vick is still in alot of pain from the back and arthritis. Especially now it is damp and cool. The meds they gave her doesn't help much. She is hoping when she goes to the doctor next month and to her rhuematologist they can give her something to help. To top everything off Mike's  (husband)  unit was activated to go to Louisiana for the hurracaine and he has been gone since september 2. She is lost without him here to help her. He is to be home sunday. I do all I can and her son Bubba has been helping. Her grandson Justin comes over when he's out of school to stay with her and keep her from being so lonely. I am beginning to worry about her because she is getting depressed and saying she is a useless human being. I keep telling her to not talk like that and to be patient that in a couple of months she will feel much better. It's hard to believe shingles can do so much damage to a person.
