This is the tutorial on how to make the scrolling tag that I sent in the newest creation post earlier :) I did substitute Lady's American flag with an Irish one...basically any national flag can be used! lol My good friend, SG Lady Hawk created this tut and gave permission for it to be shared!

I don't write many tutorials,
I do hope this one is easy for you to follow.
PSP version used for this tutorial: PSP9
This tutorial is based on the knowledge that the user is
somewhat familiar with PSP and Animation Shop.
Supplies needed:
PSP 7, 8 or 9
Animation Shop 3
Flag inserted below
Ventilate font & FFF EStudio Extended (both Attached)
Open both fonts and downsize to be used later.
Below is the flag I use for this tag (AOL Resized)
save it then open it in PSP.
Resize flag to a width of 300 pixals then go to Adjust>sharpness>sharpen
Next, press shift+r at the same time. (This turns your flag into a seamless tile)
Down size flag and open a transparent image. I usually go with a 600x600 pixel image
because I like large work space.
*Setting your text*
Set forground color to black and set your background color to pattern "kateflag" shown below
Click on your text tool then click inside your transparent image, using the Ventilate font on Vector setting,
type in the name you wish to use like so
(for short names I use pt size 150, larger names I go down in size)
this is what you should have so far
Now we need to make the bottom opening line a tad bigger so pull down on the center Vector Node
a bit until your happy with the height of the opening. Like so (usually about transparency box line width)
Next you want to convert your layer to a raster layer
Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
Next we want to add a dropshadow I use these settings
If you wish to add your watermark now is the time to do so.
Next on your keyboard hit Ctrl C. (copy)
Open Animation shop, on your keyboard hit Ctrl V (paste)
Your name should now appear in Animation Shop.
*ANIMATION*
With your name open in Animation shop go to Effects>Insert Text Effect
this window should appear
Have Animation Frame clicked on left side and on right have Custom Color Black
On Effect choose Marquee from the dropdown Menu
In your Define Text window type in what you want to scroll thru the name. Go to the font button
and find your FFF EStudio Extended Font with a size of 14 +/- (which ever suits your need)
Now comes a bit of a tricky part. You want your text to scroll thru that bottom opening on the name
So you need to Customize the Marquee Effect. Click Customize button, uncheck center text vertically,
then in Text Top box start going up in numbers until you get your scorll to match up with the opening
in the Effect Window. The larger the number the closer to the bottom of the tag your effect will scroll.
(You'll have to play with this number by hitting the ok button to see your effect)
On Mary's tag here I used 155 as my Text Top setting.
This is what you should have now
F:12 D:11
F is number of frames D is how fast it will scroll.
We need to reverse the direction of our scroll portion so on your keyboard hit Shift+R
(or go to Animation>Reverse Frames)
Now we need to slow down the scroll, on your keyboard hit Alt+Enter (or go to Animation>Frame Properties)
type in 20 as shown below then click ok.
To Resize your Animation Tag, on your keyboard hit Shift+S or go to Animation>Resize Animation
I usually try to stay within a width of 300 pixals so that
AOL won't distort it to much if it gets resized upon insertion in email.
Now go to File>Save As (find the folder you wish to save it in, name it and click save)
click next, next, next and finish.
And whala this is what you end up with :)
