Hi Red, I figured I'd copy those instructions on adding sparkles to a graphic over here so they'd be easier for you to find.
BTW, did you try adding sparkles again with files saved as being psp7 compatible?
I'm not sure what you're trying to add sparkles to but I'm going to assume it's a graphic.
Open your graphic and duplicate the layer 2 times so you have a total of 3 layers with this one graphic.
Rename each layer, layer1, layer2, and layer3.
Close off layers 2 and 3 by clicking the eye.
Be sure you are on layer one and add some of your sparkles. Not too many since we'll be adding them to each layer.
This is assuming you're using a sparkle from a tube in which case you click on Picture tube, find your sparkle tube, then click someplace on your image in a few different places. Depending on the size of your graphic and your sparkle tube, you may need to resize the sparkle tube if it's much bigger then your graphic.
Now that you have a few sparkles on layer 1 of your graphic, go to file save as and save this as a PSP file. I usually call it layer 1.
Click the eye next to layer 1 to close it off and open layer 2.
Do the exact same thing with layer 2 only placing your sparkles in a few other areas on your graphic.
Save this file as layer 2 like you did with layer 1.
Close off layer 2 and open layer 3. Repeat this same process with layer 3 and save as layer 3.
Now open Jasc Animation Shop and click on the animation wizard.
On the first screen that pops up, be sure there's a dot in the line that says "Same size as the first image frame."
Click next.
Be sure there's a dot in front of Transparent and the color in the box is set to white.
You may need to right click the box to set the color to white. Make sure that box is white before clicking next. When you switch to transparent, the color changes on you so you need to go back and put it at white. This is important if you want your graphic transparent. In other words, you don't want any color surrounding your graphic.
Ok if you have your color at white and set to transparent, click next.
Put a dot next to "upper left corner of the frame" and "With the canvas color" and click next.
Put a dot in front of "Yes, repeat the animation indefinitely."
Where it asks you how long you want each frame to be displayed, for sparkles, 15 is a good number. You can experiment and use what ever number you want. The lower the number, the quicker your sparkle sparkles.
Click next.
Now you're going to add your images which we saved as layers 1, 2, and 3. Click "Add image" and find each of these files. You can click the shift key to select all three at once. Use the move up or move down key to put your layers in order, although in this case, it probably won't make much difference which order they appear in.
Click next.
Then you just have to click finish.
On the tool bar at the far right of your screen is a little icon that looks like a movie reel. Click it and you can see if your graphic is sparkling.
If you're satisified with your graphic, save it as a gif file and there you have it.
