PSP Tips

This will reset all PSP to the defaults. If you have blundered anything this will fix it.

Hold down your Control+Alt keys at the same time you launch PSP. Timing's critical so you may have to do it a few times to hit it right.

When you get it a little box pops up asking if you want to get rid of all your PSP registry settings.

Caution: You will lose all your customized settings in preferences & toolbars.

Find a lost floating tool bar
If you have lost your floating palettes ( Layer Palette,Tool Options,  etc.). You can snap them to the center of the Paint Shop Pro window by pressing and holding down CTRL+SHIFT+T all at the same time. This will snap all floating palettes to the center of the screen.

If you lose your graphic off the screen
Menu> Window> Cascade> brings everything back to center screen.

 Using animated Alpha's
Open each letter you want to use in Animation shop, shift+d to copy and close all originals for another day.  Note that the height of each letter is identical, but the widths vary.  Add together the width sizes of your entire word and open a new canvas with that total ( or larger ) as width and the static height of all letters.  This canvas could be transparent or opaque, that is up to you. Now note how many frames the letters consist of could be 2 or more, whatever number that is, duplicate your canvas to an equal number of frames.
Now click on the first letter, Edit, select all, Edit, copy, then click your canvas Edit, select all Edit, paste into selected frame and place the letter to the extreme left of the canvas.  Repeat the above for each letter, placing them carefully or you will not have enough space for the entire last letter. If that happens, just make a new canvas a bit wider and try to bring your letters closer together. Once you have pasted each letter, view your word and adjust frame speeds if you like. Crop if needed and save!Very easy
