This is a very useful tool. It enables you to direct someone to a site, or even your own email address without having to actually type it in. When linking it to your email you could type in "email me" and link those words to your email address.

For this tutorial, I will be walking you through the steps of creating a hyperlink on the message board to an outside site using the words "Click Here" as my linking point. The message won’t appear on the board but an example will follow this tutorial so try it out and see how it works.

Step 1

Open up your message window and type in your message to the community. When you are ready to create your hyperlink, select the text and click on the " icon." (this is the globe with a paper clip icon). A box called "Insert/Edit Hyperlink" will appear. You will notice 2 drop down lists. One called "Select a community page" and another one next to the empty box, that has 3 options (http://, ftp://, and mailto:). When linking to an outside site you leave it at "http://" but if you want to link it to your email, you would change it to "mailto:" Type in the site address into the blank box. You may also right click and copy the URL of the page you want linked to your message, then type Ctrl+V on the blank box. Click on "insert."

Step 2

Click on "send" as you normally would to post your message on the board and your message will appear as below, ready to be clicked on.

example: You can pick up your doll HERE.

Hope that was helpful.
