This tutorial will take you through the steps of adding backgrounds to your messages to enhance your posts. I like having 2 windows open when I do this, and this will become clear as to why, after you’ve read through this tutorial.

Step 1

Save the background to your computer then upload it to the photo album or choose one already there. Find the background in your photo album and click on the thumbnail to enlarge it. "Right Click" on the picture and choose "properties." Place your cursor over the URL and "right click," choose "select all", then "copy."

Step 2

Open your message window and click on "insert table" then change both the Column and Row to 1 as shown below.

Step 3

Click on "background" and place your cursor inside the "Background Image URL" box and press "Ctrl+V" to paste. If you do not want an image in here, you can choose a background color here instead.

Step 4

Click on "borders" and choose your border color. If you do not want a border on your background, remember to change the "border width" to zero (0). Click on "insert table." Place your cursor inside the table and begin typing and/or adding animations or pictures (covered in tutorial 4), this causes the table to expand. Format the text as you normally would. Click on "send" and your message will appear as below (not necessarily these colors).

You're both welcome, Cathy and faye. I didn't know people actually look thru these boards lol. I'm glad I was able to explain some difficult things easily for novices. I once struggled to understand how to do these things too but I'm glad I was able to keep the directions simple.

Cathy, this is what your friend told you:

"Mahal Kita, Anak." which means "I love you, my daughter."

I hope this works I've always wondered how to do this.

My selected back ground didn't show up.  I had it saved in a file and right clicked on properties and copied and pasted the location.  What's a ULR?
Kris.

I can do it with the colours that are with "Instert Table" but I can't seem to bring in some of the pretty back grounds that I have saved on my computer. Help Please!

Kris.

Hi Kris. URL means Uniform Resource Locator, a pointer to a "resource" on the World Wide Web. A resource can be something as simple as a file or a directory, or it can be a reference to a more complicated object, such as a query to a database or to a search engine.

Look below for my instructions. I'll use a "satin green" background as a sampler. Feel free to practice on this thread like everyone's been doing.

That image I'm using for the background is located HERE. Go there and right click on the image, or you can choose a different one to practice.

Following everything from the top instructions....right click on the image. Then go all the way down to where it says Properties. A little window will open and  look for the one that says: Address (URL). Copy the whole thing, it looks like this:

Once you copy that, follow step number 3. That should make it work.

This is what I've done: Rows and Columns: 1, Borders: Borderwidth is 10 and Border Color is Black, Background: Background URL:

This is what it looks like now:

I hope you can see what I have done and that this was helpful. Don't get frustrated if you can't get it right the first time. Just keep practicing, you'll get it right eventually! Goodluck and give yourself a pat in the back for trying this!

I can't seem to be able to paste into the ULR box after I copy the name under properties.  I will keep trying though.  Thanks Cece for reminding me that I had posted a question here.  I totally forgot about it. LOL

I have it now!  yaahh!  I was trying to paste by right clicking and then pasting instead of using ctrl V as it says in the tut up above.  Thanks so much helping me figure it out.  I wonder if I'm brave enough to try a triple border? lol

Kris.
