12 Steps In Creating A 3-Layered Background: Step 1 In order to add triple backgrounds you will need to have 2 windows open. To open another window, hold down your SHIFT key and click on Pictures in the left navigation bar and go to your Photo Album where you have your backgrounds stored. Step 2 Once you have your second window open, go back to your first window and click on either New Discussion or Reply. Once you have your message window open, click on "Use HTML to create your page." Step 3 Once you click on that link you will see this: <DIV></DIV> Step 4 Copy the script below and click right between the > and the < as show above and paste this script by holding down your Ctrl key and hitting the letter V <center><table width="100%" cellpadding=40 cellspacing=0 border=1 background="background name#1"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <center><table width="90%" cellpadding=40 cellspacing=0 border=1 background="background name#2"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <center><table width="100%" border=1 background="background name#3"> <tr> <td width="100%">Your Content Goes Here </td></tr></table></center></td></tr></table></center></td></tr></table></center> Step 5 Now you have to put the URL to your picture in where it says "background name #1", "background name #2, and "background name #3" In order to do that, open your second window that has your photo album with your backgrounds. Choose your background and click on the thumbnail to view the full size image. Right click on the full size image and click on Properties. Step 6 In the next window, you will see this. You have to copy all the information that is next to Address: (URL). To do that, highlight everything starting at the http:// and move your mouse down so that it captures everything in the address field. The last thing you should see is either .jpg or .gif. Step 7 Once you have it all highlighted, RIGHT click and click on Copy. Step 8 Now go back to your message window and where it says "background name #1" highlight everything between the " " then hold down your Ctrl key and hit the letter V. That will paste the new URL that you just copied. Step 9 Now, go back to your photo album and find the second image you want to use and do the same thing, only this time pasting it between the " " where it ways "background name #2". Step 10 Now go back to your photo album and find the third image you want to use and do the same thing, only this time pasting it between the " " where it says "background name #3". Step 11 Once you have that done, click on "Use HTML to create your page" again and you should see your triple backgrounds. Step 12 Just click inside the center tile and start typing. | | | | |

This was adapted from Geri's tut from my ABC's group. Anyone that wanted to try this tut can use the backgrounds we have HERE. Don't be shy, we learn from trying, and trying more. Rhi....come and try this. Mix or match colors, depends and your mood or theme of the page. Sometimes, I use corky colors to make them eye catching or colors that match each other closely for the more formal ones. Just be aware of the file size so it won't occupy too much space that you have to scroll, it sometimes defeats the purpose of attracting viewers because they lose interest instead. I have to still hone my skills on this too, as some of the triple backgrounds I have are a bit big. Blessed Be. |

very hard to read for us with older eyes because of the background colors. |

instead of straining your eyes, try this... with your mouse, left click and drag your cursor over the text...as if you were going to copy and paste...this will highlight all the text and make it a lighter color...easier to read... works like a charm for my old eyes, lol Barbara |

Sorry Lynn and Barbara, didn't wanna starin your eyes. There would have been another layer of light colored background before I typed all the text but I believe I deleted the image from the album so it's gone also from the background. Anyway, I'm copy/pasting all the text from above and posting it here w/o any backgrounds. Hope this helps. 12 Steps In Creating A 3-Layered Background: Step 1 In order to add triple backgrounds you will need to have 2 windows open.
