Hi all ... I've been biding my time and being very patient over the past week. It's literally been a week since I have been on the net, I had a suspect line with my ISP and have been unable to get online until today. Rang the techie-types last Thursday and told them the ISP connection was faulty and I couldnt get on ... to which they immediately said ... the line was fine. Needless to say I was a bit miffed as I just told them it wasnt .... grr. Been without net now for a week, which during that time I thought blow it ...and am changing ISP's. Am taking advantage of the Sky+ box offer that was going on at the time, which gives free broadband, so in theory at least I should be moving across to sky broadband on 12th October, as far as I know. To the best of my knowledge I should at least now double my broadband speed and have taken the 'unlimited' option that went along with it. Funnily enough I took up the skybox for the free broadband options more than having 'sky' and some more tv channels. It'll all come out right in the end lol. Just got my MAC code for transference so that'll be done tomorrow so all will be prepared for when chap comes to set up box/dish and broadband installation in a week or so. Then I'll be a happy chappy.

Awwwwwwww Nomad it is the pitts when you cannot get onto the net.
Hope things are better for you when you are connected to Sky+
I am with BT and touch wood have no probs.
My grandson was with BT but changed last month to Sky. I asked him if his connection wwas faster. He told me nooooooooo in fact it is taking ages to connect and will not always do so. grrrrrrr!
Maybe it is because he needs a higher spec PC it is an old lap-top he uses that I bought him from a computer fair about 3 years ago.
Yup Nomad....you will be a happy chappy to get back up and running.
Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well with the change-over

I think it is all pot luck..and often down to the areas.
I had sky 2 yars in cotswolds..and was over the moon.
We brought the contract over to Portsmouth and it was also brilliant,,I luved it..till Parker saw a special offer with virgin..tv..phone..broadband all for £30 along with a free mobile phone (extra £10 a month for calls).
Oddly enuff changing to virgin has causd my pc more cut off problems ..
I wish I was still with sky!!
Before that i had BT and never had any problems..
its all a case of trial and error..and move next door to a reception ariel!!!
We miss you Nommie..so get back to us when u can.
The SKY is your limit!!!
