token Gesture

The Housemates learn where luxuries come from

Big Brother's not afraid of being accused of tokenism -- in fact, he's positively encouraging it by kicking off a new "token" scheme for housemates, in exchange for luxuries.

Mohamed was called to the Diary Room to collect a laminate with all the very important info. "We've got five tokens, yeah?" he began, holding up a large round disc.

"Where's the huge slot machine?!" Rex laughed. "Each token can be redeemed for things like one hour of hair straighteners, one hour on the hair dryer, one hour of hair clippers, or you can redeem it for a luxury item," continued Mohamed.

"I am not lying," Mohamed replied calmly."Which is?" Alexandra demanded. "... or one day's worth of hot water," Mohamed finished. "Oh my gosh, you mean we've got cold water?!" Alexandra balked. "Oh my gosh, you're lying!" the south London girl gulped.

But Rex had more pressing matters on his mind. "Who wants to use one token for alcohol now?" he asked. We're guessing you do, Rex.

Still buzzin............

It's the housemates first alarm call... and they're not happy!

At 9.30am the housemates woke up to Big Brother's first wake-up alarm. And what better way to vocalise the blissful rush of emotions of waking up for the first full day in the House? "Someone turn that f****** thing off!" shouted Rex. "It's too loud!" complained Alexandra.

Mario's first instinct? Check himself out in the mirror and adjust his hair. Stephanie, however, defiantly tried to sleep through the shrill alarm tone. Little does she know Big Brother has a dizzying arsenal of mind-blowingly irritating alarm tones to unleash every morning. This morning's twee buzzing noise is merely the tip of the iceberg.

In the garden, Mohamed and Mario were shooting the breeze. Not literally. "Are you still buzzin'?" asked Mohamed. "Yeah, I'm still buzzin,'" replied Mario. "I got out and at first I was like, 'am I really in here?'" Mohamed explained. "Then I woke up and I was like 'I'm still here!'" Yes! You are!
