BBC Inside Out SouthWest programme featuring Sita and her calf

**********************************************

Philip Knowling - Paignton Zoo
On behalf of Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has been following the rhino cam project over the last few months.

At times it seemed like a long wait – but I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth it! Thanks to everyone who has watched the web cam, communicated via the message board or sent e-mails, cards and letters to the Zoo. The project was more successful than we could ever have hoped – we are delighted that Sita’s story has caught the imagination of so many people.

I think the project has shown the hard work and dedication of Paignton Zoo keeping staff, the ups and downs of conservation breeding programmes and the sheer wonder of animals such as the black rhino. Thank you to the BBC for doing an amazing job under sometimes difficult conditions. The cameras will come down soon – I hope you can all get used to life without them!
