To remove Windows messenger:
  1. In your Start menu, click on Control Panel
  2. When the Control Panel window opens, click on Add/Remove programs
  3. When the Add/Remove programs window opens, click on Add/Remove Windows Components
  4. A window for Windows components will open.  You can scroll down the list and uncheck the box for Windows messenger, then click Next and follow any instructions that come up on your screen.

Hope this helps!
