The Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology Pied Babbler project's field site is situated in Gannavlakte farm in Kuruman River Reserve.

Habituation of several groups of yellow mongooses was achieved recently by Aliza le Roux (PhD student of Stellenbosch University, SA) and her assistant.
