I totally erased my computer today. Everything is lost. All my pictures, favorites, downloads...Jeopardy questions....gone.....I need to totally start over. I can't remember the passwords to half of the groups/sites I visit! This is a perfect example of why you should always back up your hard drive!
 
This is just what I need at this time.  I won't be playing for a few more days until I straighten this out.  But I'll be here posting because you guys cheer me up!
 
I'm going to go weep bitterly and gnash my teeth now......

Oh kathy!  I'm so sorry to hear that.  There are companies that can retrieve the info from a wiped HD but they cost quite a lot to do it.

Is there by any chance a "System Restore" program on your computer?  It would be in the "Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore"

Here's what I did.....I bought an HP computer after having a Gateway for 10 years. On Gateway they have a thing called "GoBack" where you can go back in time and restore the computer to how it was. On HP there's a restore and a recovery. I accidentally hit recovery which means it resets the computer to the condition it was in the day I brought it home. I talked to a tech at HP and she said there's nothing I can do.  I'm slowly getting everything back together. There's just tons of downloads and updates.  I'll try to play Jeop today if I'm home.
