Yes indeed Kathy, the Slew has very naughty fingers when she is on her pain meds. Although she is very entertaining and had us all crying with laughter... Witty |

Yes, I've been visiting some of the threads and I don't totally know what the heck I'm talking about. I really think the worst part of the whole surgery was the anesthesia. I still have moments where I don't feel well. Plus the Percocet makes me dizzy. Nah, it isn't strong enough to make me talk naughty or anything. I did fall onto the toilet this morning though. My knees hurt from crawling up the stairs. I'm getting pretty good at being in the wheelchair though. Can't wait to be back online "full time". I feel like I'm missing everything! Pronker, thanks for the awesome card! I love pups! (I guess you know that!) And I'm cutting out the stamps to save them. I'm glad the post mark wasn't noticeable. Thanks everyone for all the well wishes! |

Be careful crawling up those stairs! When i tried that, i really had to think hard to keep from leaning too far backwards. Of course, i was on something pretty strong at the time .... |

Thanks! I could use a massage! My knee that's not in the boot is hurting really bad. Hopefully by next weekend I'll be able to walk on the foot a little. I see the dr. on Thursday. It's been 6 weeks, you'd think I'd be walking around by now! |

Here's the latest on "the foot". I'm able to put a little weight on it when walking with the crutches. The dr. told me to put my sneaker on to compress the swelling, but there's no way I could get that thing on this morning. I'll try again tomorrow morning. The bad news is I'm lazy now and it's easier to be in the wheelchair than to walk! Not that I'm supposed to be on my foot all day. I still need to elevate it because swelling is still a big problem. I did walk into the credit union today and in my friend's yard while my DM was giving landscaping advice. But the foot that was holding the most weight was killing me! And the calf muscles are all sore on both legs. I hope this is all settled by August 20th when I have to go back to work! I'm going to have to find a stool to sit on when I'm not serving. That's it for now.... |

kathy, cuddles. Can you find a place to swim? build up muscles without weight on them? |

Ok Kat.... when you are in bed.........say at night.... see if you can elevate your foot.... the swelling will usually to down if you do that.... and during the day.. at least once or more if possible try to elevate it higher than your heart.... yes ... you would have to lay down for this.... it helps the swelling to go down..... when you wake in the morning your foot will probably be small enough for the tennys... Well, I got the sneaker on this morning. It's not very comfortable, but sure is compressing! Walked over to my mom's (next door) today all by myself. It's getting easier! There's a dead cat up in the alley and I think it's the neighbor's. For the first time I'm glad I can't walk up there to check and I told my dad to knock at her door. I'm hoping he sees her husband first because it's not pretty. |
