OK - please everyone who used or visited the test burrow at Forumcircle give your opinion here.  What did you like, what didn't you like?  What was easy and what was difficult or obscure?

Good morning, everybody! For me the forumcircle site was easy to use and I think the shoutbox is a cool feature. It's not as easy for me to find threads there as here, but overall the forumcircle site was good.

Yo

I can live with either one.  I was concerned about the privacy on both sites but I guess wherever we go we'll have to have a sentry posted until we all settle down.

Wetpaint seems a little bit more like this burrow than forumcircle.  How would we do the "historical threads" on these sites?  Or should we just bury the past and look forward?

Pronker  --> and yes I'm repeating myself

I, too am concerned about the security of the site. We don't want spammers to get into our burrow. On MMF, it is not a secure site and Racing Ferret has had to deal with spammers posting stuff that was very
inappropriate!

I wonder if we can post pictures on Forumcircle like we can in our burrow. (I don't mean avatars, I know we can do that)

Other than that I like the site. It seems easy to maneuver around in.

No photo gallery here - sigh.  I think most people use photbucket, or something similar, and post a link.

It was fairly easy to navigate.

To maintain security, the site would have to be Private.  Like Wet Paint, it is all-or-nothing.

I just added the Quirky Guidelines.  28k  and no problem.  We will be able to have our history, and all the old jeopardy games (an invaluable treasure trove of meerkat knowledge and fun), and the Commando Reggie stories.

Since we can't have a photo gallery I guess we can't post pictures along with our posts either!

I wish we could find a site like this one. I like our burrow here!

I didn't really look around much on Forumcircle, just played jeopardy. The shout box is cool. I can deal with FC, if we can post pictures. I don't  need an album, just want to be able to post pictures in posts. To do that, you need a storage site. Which I have, but it's not as convenient to use as this site where you can upload from your computer. I like the different color post options and spell check.

I think it's not as easy to navigate as here, but shouldn't be too hard.

Wherever we end up, the group should be private so spammers don't come in like they do in MMF.

Both sites have good and bad things about them, I will follow to whichever is decided on..

I can't guarantee that spammers won't attack either site but I can say that neither my forumcircle Linklu RP site nor its wetpaint Information site have been attacked yet...the only problem I've really had with either site is when Cazanna joined...she caused a lot of problems, fighting amongst members and continued to break rule after rule after being warned repeatedly...

Out of the 2 my preference would be forumcircle. It seemed easier to use. I never posted at wet paint because I couldn't figure it out. der.

Yuku would also be a good option. You can make it private and I 've never once had a spammer issue. The only thing is- to be ad free you would need to pay for the site. It works out to something like 15 a year for the amt of traffic on my site. Again, all are welcome to check it out and see how you like it. I"m not sure how to post a link here, but its www.meerkatmania.yuku.com

I've set up our own test burrow at Yuku

to try after we test Aimoo. I think it's very easy to use. I put a few things in there so you can get an idea on it's ease of use. I didn't want to do too much in case we decide not to go with it. (although I did make a customized skin--I like doing that).

I had it private and didn't know it so I changed it to public for now, but if we decide to use it we can make it private again. And if we decide not to use it, it can be deleted (a feature I like). It's very similar to Aimoo.
