:happydance: "The Amazing Race" is back!!!!!!!

Since there are quite a few of us TAR fans in the burrow, I've started a little bolthole where we can post our thoughts, predictions, etc. all season long.

My thoughts after tonight's episode:

Unless you have a deathly paralyzing fear of heights, the Detour was a no-brainer. Climbing down the cargo net (challenging but not excruciating) vs. climbing  tons of concrete steps on your hands and knees (!) with the possibility that you'll get the question wrong and have to do it all over again?

Teams I likey:
Nick and Starr - they do seem to like to play mind games, but they are smart and savvy and backed up their talk with their performance.
Toni and Dallas - they seem to have a great, supportive relationship, and aren't creepy, unlike a lot of parent-child teams from past seasons. Toni seems very sweet, and Dallas seems like a good kid and is wicked hot.
Comic Book Guys - They seem to have a good sense of humor. I love it when the teams actually look like they're having fun.
Teams that can get offa my teevee now:
Terence and Sarah - they fill the "whiny dating couple" slot quite well. One or both of them will have a total meltdown in the episodes to come
The Southern Belles - Airheads. I just don't like 'em.
The Seth Rogen-esque Frat Dorks - ick.

I felt bad for the beekeepers...but physically they were no match for the other teams.

All in all, this episode wasn't as exciting as the first episodes of past seasons, but I'm not gonna judge it right away. Next week's episode looks pretty good.

Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!

I watched Sunday night's episode.  I'm not sure what I think of the show yet.  I'm going to wait for a few more eps to figure it out.  The camera work when they are running to the pit stop is really annoying, though.

I seriously cannot believe the divorcees thought they had to dig something up in the sand. And then, the whole taxi disaster. Gawd. The Southern Belles and the Frat Idiots didn't bug me as much this episode...maybe because they didn't have much screen time. Still loving the 3 teams I listed as my faves last week. Ken and Tina are growing on me as well. They crack me up. And Terrance? You totally stole the hairdo from that toolish guy (forgot his name) from Season 6 or 7, and it makes YOU look even more idiotic than he did. Felt bad for the couple that got eliminated, they seemed like nice, normal people, which can be a rarity on this show!

GRRRRR, I didn't want Mark and Bill gone!  I was hoping either the divorcees or the southern belles would be going home.
That Starr is getting annoying.  I liked the mother/son team this week.

I felt bad for Mark and Bill...I could tell they were very upset with themselves for not reading the clue more closely. Yeah, Starr is starting to get on my nerves a bit as well. But not as much as the divorcees. "She pushed my sports bra off the ledge!!!!!"
Go Toni and Dallas!!!!

I was glad the Southern Belles got booted off.  They seemed to be in super slow motion the entire episode.
I'm liking Toni and Dallas more every episode, and Terrance and Sarah aren't so bad anymore.

Woo Hoo, good episode last night.  Ken and Tina (who I like) saved themselves from elimination by using their brains.  The Divorcees (who I don't like) got eliminated because they are DUMB, DUMB, DUMB.
I quite enjoyed those sissy girls getting pelted with paint

Ken and Tina are ok.  Those girls are sooooo stoopad!  I couldn't believe they picked the wrong numbers to record and then the frat boys did the same.

It was a good episode.

How is it possible that the Frat Boys are still in the race???  I think they've come in second to last in every episode!  They are lucky that every time they do something stupid, another team does something even more stupid.
Go Toni and Dallas!

Youa re so right, SG!  Those frat boys are only one step above the divorcees.  I thought they'd be gone this week, but alas.  Sigh, another week of watching them be stoopad.  Well, they make some of the other teams not look so dumb.

Toni and Dallas and Nick and Star are really doing well together.

I laughed out loud at the marching too!  That boy has got no rhythm whatsoever.  I'm not the world's greatest dancer, but geesh how hard can it be to lift your arms and legs at the same time.  That was even funnier than watching the divorcees get pelted with paint

That was a good finale last night.  I was just glad the Frat Boys didn't win.  I was about even on rooting for the other 2 teams, didn't have a clear preference.  I think Nick and Starr deserved to win, they worked hard and came in first on many stages of the race.
