Sporthorses? I have not heard that used for racing.   Do you mean turf racing or dirt?  Because underneath he would be good for turf.  And on top, he could go either way.  But for breeding, I would go turf because of the European background.  As far as info...I'm not too familiar with his record but only know him as a turfer and even then I only know just enough to say the name is familiar.  .  But if you go farther back in his pedigree, he does have some impressive blood flowing.  Try googling Gone West or Mr Prospector.  That will give you the background.  Sorry for not being able to help you.  Are you on any horse forums?  If so, the best way to get info is to open a thread.  Believe me...there is a lot of great stuff on those boards.  And those guys just love to show off their smarts [and they do know what they are talking about].  I am paying attention to the how to play harness racing thread to maybe learn something.

By sporthorses, I mean their life after retireing as racehorses. I have one arriving next month and I am curious to learn about his breeding. Way West is on top. Not sure what the bottom is yet.

Even I recognize Mr Prospector!

When I googled WW, I came up with (FR) behind his name. Was he born in France? Or just raced there? Sorry, its been a looooong time since I've had to think about TB pedigrees. I breed warmbloods.

Yes if letters behind the name that means that is where the horse was bred.  I looked up sporthorses and from what I got it looked like dressage or fox hunters.  Honestly I know nothing about those but I would think that with him being more turf and the European bakground, it would seem like that would be more suitable in that venue than say for instance barrellracing or cutting horse type sports. TB's that were good on Turf usually do very well when re-trained to become jumpers in their older years.
Once they get off the track I just like to know what happens to them ie: re-trained or retired or in the breeding shed.  If they get a new career, I usually don't follow them anymore unless I have some personal interest in them or nostalgia.  This is an interesting question though and if you don't mind I could put it on my horsey chats to get their opinions.  I'm sure someone on those boards would be able to help.

Sure, that would be great! I'd love to hear what people have to say. Would it be alright to copy the replies to here? I just don't have time for any addtional boards.
