This is the e-mail I received regarding a season 2 of Lemur Kingdom.  It really is a shame as this type of programming is what got me hooked on watching animal planet.  I guess now we gotta sit and wait for the DVD's.  Sorry...

Dear Brenda

Thank you for contacting us and I'm delighted you enjoyed Lemur Kingdom.

I'm afraid there are no plans for a second series.  Animal Planet has changed its strategy over recent weeks and I'm afraid this type of programming is no longer of interest to them.

Best regards

Yo slew

Yes it is sad that they are replacing these enjoyable shows with the blood and gore stuff.  AP is going to lose a lot of regular viewers due to their change of strategy.
Unfortunately it won't save some of the shows we grew to love but at least the lemurs themselves are a protected species.   A lot of zoos back the conservation in Madagascar and at least we can be assured that someone is looking out for them.

Now Witty, you can't blame Caroline Hawkins for Animal Planet having a terminal case of testosterone poisoning.  We need the phone numbers for the people who shall remain nameless (per Dorothy Parker) at Animal Planet.

I personally don't like the phrase "...that kind of programming." Doesn't "that kind of programming" include MM? I am finding there are nights i don't even want to go there because i don't want to watch animals malling each other.

I have the same suspicion, Rip. "that kind of programming"  -  Lemur Kingdom was inspired by Meerkat Manor.

Sigh - sob - no filming now.  Even if a season 5 is started later, we will never see this Kalahari summer on film.  Oh merciful meerkats - we may never get to see Zaphod lounging around again.

At least we got good news about Pegleg......

Dear Brenda R,
Sadly there are no plans for another season.  The drought shown really was bad, and half the Graveyard troop disappeared.  The remnants are now led by "Sophie", who has all their old range.  Tripod (Pegleg) survived, though--tough old geezer.
I guess you will have to plan a trip to Mad. to see for yourself...
Best wishes,
Alison

While I am happy that Pegleg is ok, I am very disappointed that there are no plans for another season of Lemur Kingdom!
