This news snippet is from Meerkat Manor - the Official Website from the Makers of Meerkat Manor (www.meerkatmanor.co.uk) - just saw it yesterday:

Ever wondered where the Meerkat Manor team is now?

They're in Zimbabwe filming the bitter-sweet story of a baby rhino called Tatenda. Look out for it on Animal Planet later in the year.

While searching for an address for the president, Ms Marjorie Kaplan, I found this news item - Ms Holland looks like the responsible party.

Animal Planet Media Names Whitney Holland Vice President of Program Planning and Scheduling

-- Television Veteran Brings Vision and Expertise to Animal Planet’s
Line-up --

September 16, 2008

(New York, N.Y.) Rick Holzman, senior vice president of programming and scheduling for Animal Planet Media, named television veteran Whitney Holland to the position of vice president of program planning and scheduling for Animal Planet. Based in New York and reporting to Holzman, Holland is in charge of optimizing the network's current programming lineup and steering long-term development needs.

and here's their snail mail address:

Yo TQ

Well unless Tatenda gores her trainers and attacks the camera crew I don't think we'll see it on Animal Planet this year as they prefer shows like Raw Nature and Untamed and Uncut now.

And yes I think a snail mail campaign aimed at Holzman, Holland and Kaplan and in addition Caroline Hawkins at OS would be more effective than just and email begging call.

I am really disappointed with their line up now.  I looked this morning and it was Animal Cops, Raw Nature (hours of it) Dog 101 and more Animal cops and then freaky disgusting things and then Untamed stuff.  Sigh they really are heading for disaster...  I know I've been tuning in more to National Geo, as the Dog Whisperer and Dogtown are a great one - two punch.  It's great to have shows like that to turn too now that Meerkat Manor is off the air and Friday nights could get eh boring.

I'd say Friday nights are already boring! Sigh.....

I miss Meerkat Manor and Lemur Kingdom.
I don't care for the shows they have on AP now!

I agree about AP's current programming.  I hardly ever watch anymore.  Their appealing to those rogues, the "18 to 35 Males" isn't working!   I finally got digital TV in my hometown so i can now also watch Nat. Geographic and such channels.
Friday nights are indeed dismal now.  But i do at least have DVDs of all 4 seasons of MM at last!

Unfortunately I have never seen Lemur.  How does it compare to MM?  Do they have their own personalities, specific family structure, etc. etc.  I just assumed it wouldn't be close.

Oh no! It's going to be a tear-jerker for sure!

Carlos, LK was kinda like MM. Dominant females, subordinates, foraging.... the narrator annoyed me at first, but then I got to like him.
