An Ode to Shakespeare
Oh Shakespeare, Oh Shakespeare
You are so brave tis true
We have never forgotten you
You saved Mitch your dear brother
you brought him back safe
to his mother
You fought with an old nasty snake
and was bitten
Oh my goodness our poor Shakes
As the night went on
we thought in the morning
you would be gone
The morning came
and you were still around
our hearts were abound
Dear sisters Mozart and Tosca stayed by you
when you were feeling rotten
and so blue
You were so weak
how long would you last?
perhaps a week?
alas!
You would die from hunger
if you didn't get food
oh what would you do?
So slowly you drug your poor litttle leg
in hopes of finding
some turtle eggs
You would settle for some bugs
and hoped to find a few
to carry you through
At last you found something to eat
foraging in this
dreadful desert heat
As the days went by
you began to get better
Our heart were so light
just like a feather
To those adorable little pups
you were a grand little sitter
and never complained
or was bitter
We all thought the day
the Lazuli came calling
that Big Sy was after you
while we were bawling
With our hearts filled with dread
we watched season two
all they said
you were presumed dead
We found out later
that it wasn't you
Big Sy was after
our hearts weren't so blue
We still don't know what really happened
we hope to know soon
our beloved Shakespeare
we are so missing you
It could be you just went out
found a lady meerkat
to see what love was all about
Maybe you are the dominant male
with a grand little lady
your dominant female
Oh Shakespeare Dear Shakespeare
wherever you may roam
we hope you are alive and well
in your new home
If you are alive
oh please let us know
we miss you so much
on the Meerkat Manor show
An Ode to Tosca
Oh Tosca oh Tosca
you sweet little dear
you left our eyes
filled with tears
The day you left us
we all cried
we're still hoping
that you're alive
We remember
the good things you did
like feeding Flower's
hungry little kids
You comforted Shakespeare
after his snake attack
and stayed by him
wherever he was at
A dominat female
you thought you would be
but it wouldn't work
for thee
You made a move so bold
but was soon put out
lonely and cold
No one to help you
get rid of those ticks and fleas
no one to hear
your desperate pleas
We watched as you roamed
and hoped that your family
would welcome you home
Then Carlos a rovering little male
came along and saw
a pretty female
At last we thought things
would work out right
but in season two
you were no where in sight
How we long to see
your sweet face
and give you sweetheart
a warm embrace
Oh how I long
to see you in view
I know that others
are waiting too
Let's hope things are well
wherever you are
you bright and twinkling
little star
