The paragraph style icon is actually a great tool for design.  If I want to set up a page for TUT's for example, I need a header and a body.  The Paragraph Style icon has predetermined styles for each setting which are "Universal Settings", the H1 or Heading Style 1 will be the same on any screen.

Let me demonstrate:

See the Text Label for the Paragraph Style? This is what you would select if you wish to adjust the paragraph style of your message.

 and Title           (using the font and size I have chosen)

This is My Heading

 and Title          (using H1 or Heading 1)

This is My Heading

 and Title          (using H3 or Heading 3)

 and Title          (using H5 or Heading 5)

with each successive numeric size down, the size of the heading gets smaller but still retains its header quality.  As you can see it has not lost its Bold Style.  Now if I were to replicate the title again and select Pre-Formatted, that would mean that any of the formatting styles that are currently in place do not apply to "this" Header:

and Title         (using normal font size and style)
