Nashville Fried Biscuits
Ingredients:
1 pound round steak cut 1-inch thick 1/4 cup shortening1 clove garlic, minced 2 2/3 pkg dry yeast1/2 cup warm water1 quart milk, room temperature1/4 cup sugar1/2 cup lard or shortening6 tsp salt9 cups flour

Directions:
DISSOLVE yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. ADD other ingredients and let dough rise.ROLL out and cut into biscuits. While you are doing this don't allow them to rise too much. DROP into hot fat. The fat should be slightly higher than 350°F. If fat is too hot the biscuits will be soggy in the center.TIP: Biscuits can be frozen and stored.
