Carne Guisada
2 lb chuck stew meat (the original recipe is for sirloin) 2T cornstarch vegetable oil 2 cans diced tomatoes 1 cup water 1T garlic powder 1 jalapeno pepper diced ½ green pepper diced ½ t salt 2T cumin 1t black pepper
Coat steak with cornstarch. Cook in oil until browned. Drain meat. Add all other ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Remove cover and cook an additional 30 minutes or until sauce is thick and meat is tender. |
