Just A Few Thoughts

Sitting by a campfire is about the most relaxing thing I know of.  You sit there and before you know it you’re waaaaaaay off into Mother Nature and all of Her splendor.

Sit back?.relax……watch the flames chase the smoke lazily up towards the stars.  You can feel you body “letting go?as limb by limb, the woes of your day (the drums in your mind) turn into smoke signals headed for oblivion.

Sometimes, when there are things “really heavy?on your mind, you might pick up a stick and poke at the burning embers, making hot ashes float into the sky.  Poke, poke?.poke, poke?.Oh Yeah?.you’re feeling better and better.  Go ahead?.put another log or two on the fire.  You’ve got all night.  Listen to the fire crackle.  Do you hear the owl hooting?  Can you hear the Night Hawk soaring above you?  You can feel the cool, moist night air moving in, can’t you?

Your wood flute has been laying in your lap.  Pick it up?.close your eyes?.and play it in rhythm with the beat of the drums in your mind.

Play my friend, play.  Play until your drums have faded into the night.
