Looking for a new way to prepare Yorkshire pudding? This recipe is a great base to expand your imagination and build from. There is SOOO much you can do to this recipe after you have built the foundation. MAKE IT YOUR OWN!

TOAD IN THE HOLE

8 pork sausages
¾ C plain white flour
¾ C milk
1 Tbsp water
2 eggs
½ tsp salt
4 Tbsp olive oil

1. Preheat the oven to 450F.
2. Blend all ingredients (except the sausages and oil) in a bowl. A hand mixer is recommended for a perfect smoothness.
3. Boil-fry the sausages until cooked. Cut the sausages into chunks, remove the water and fry normally for another 5 minutes.
4. Add olive oil to a small roasting tin.
5. Heat the oil until smoking hot, then pour in the yorkshire batter.
6. Add the sausage chunks and place into the hot oven.
7. Bake for about 5-10 minutes at 450F, then reduce to 400F and bake 20-30 minutes or until the batter around the sausages has risen and is a deep golden brown.
8. Cut into desired serving size and serve immediately.

Variations:

* Cook up some beef gravy or hunter gravy to pour hot over your serving!
* Serve with baked potato and green salad, or salad greens.
* Throw a large handful of some chopped carrots in with the sausages for a more complete meal (or experiment with your own veggies).
