Kitchen Scissors:

I recommend spending good money for a nice pair of really sharp kitchen scissors.

Scissors cut paper very well, but do not use your kitchen scissors for any use other than for kitchen food prep. Cutting paper will quickly dull all knives and blades.

Your kitchen scissors will become one of your most useful tools for cutting all fresh vegetables, herbs, etc. Keep the blade sharp with a sharpening rod. Do not use the can opener sharpener. It is too harsh for the side blades. The sharpening rod works the best, even today. You will know how to run the blade up and down it with a little practice. You will not hurt your blade as you might with the can opener sharpener.
