DI'S FIVE THANKSGIVING WEEK:
-------------------------------------
Sunday...
-------------
1. 3 BONE-IN SKIN-ON CHICKEN BREASTS
2. 1 POUND BABY CARROTTS
3. 10-12 CUPS WATER
4. ONION, GARLIC, PEPPER, SALT, BAY LEAF, HORSERADISH, CINNAMON.. (yes, cinnamon..) TO TASTE.
5. SEVERAL WEEK-OLD BAKERY BUNS.
--------------------------------------
I made Chicken soup with all this for Glen's poor tooth.
Stewing the chicken breasts in water and all veggies and spices expect Cinnamon. Cinnamon is on the table for addition for taste. (Give it a try, you just might like it!!) Removing chicken, deboning and adding chicken meat back to stew pot. Discard skin and bones.
Soften buns in paper bag in over. Place semi-old buns in large grocery bag, or small lunch bag for just a few buns. WET THE BAG ON THE OUTSIDE, JUST A BIT.. JUST A LITTLE!!! Place FOLDED OVER BAG ON UNGREASED HEAVY COOKIE SHEET. HEAT IN A 250 DEGREE OVEN 5-10 MINUTES DEPENDING UPON HOW MANY BUNS IN BAG.
If Glen's tooth would not have hurt, I would have made garlic toast with all the buns halves..
---------------------------
Monday.
1. 1 POUND 85% HAMBURGER
2. 1 PACKET TACO SEASONING
3. 1 CAN CHEEDAR CHEESE SOUP, UNDULITED
4. 1 DRAINED CAN CORN
5. 1 BOXED CREAMY STYLE MAC AND CHEESE, CHEESE PACKET INCULED STYLE.
--------------------
I know, I know.. My foot hurt..
Brown 3/4 pound hamburger in baking dish, 400 degree oven, adding dried onion and garlic. Stir and break up as needed. ( the 1/4 pound leftover baked hamburger became my evening meal along with a cabbage salad)
During, cook mac'n cheese according to packge directions. Saving the cheese packet.
Drain Macoroni. Do not rinse.
RINSE HAMBURGER. Return to baking dish.
It's really easy to remove up to 80% fat from meat.. USE A GOOD STRAINER AND THE HOTTEST WATER YOU HAVE FROM YOUR TAP. Rinse 1 minute. If you cannot use your tap water.. BOIL 6 CUPS BOTTLED WATER.. Pour over hamburger in strainer.
Add remaining ingreidents and stir well. Adding water or milk if needed for desired thickness. The soup and chesse packet will make a great thick mixture.
Cover and bake 1 hour 350 until heated through.
THIS CAN BE MADE IN THE MICROWAVE ALSO.. USEING MICROWAVER READY BAKING DISHES. BROWN MEAT, RINSE, PREPARE MACORONI AND CHESSE ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS, STIR IN MEAT AND REMAINING INGREIDENTS , HEAT THROUGHLY.
-----------------------------------

2. 2 CUPS OR MORE LEFTOVER POTATO MIXTURE FROM A CHICKEN MEAL.
3. 2 MORE CUPS LEFTOVER VEGGIE FROM A SAUERKAUT HAMBURGER HOTDISH MEAL..
4. HMM, WHAT'S FOR DESSERT..
5.. I FOUND SOME VEGGIES IN THE FREEZER ALSO..

Hannah and Elise will eat whatever they wish..
I'll post her ingredients Sunday.
She usually makes my favorite meal..
1. HAMBURGER
2. HOMEGROWN TOMATOES
3. FRESH CUBED POTATOES WITH CABBAGE AND STRING GREEN BEANS
4 CABBAGE SALAD
5. HER PERSONAL DRESSING...

She had all this from her veggie garden and I got to stay overnight every now and again. My friend Karla, loved this meal also.. We really enjoyed making the homemade ice cream.. Karla's older brother would help out every now and again. Karla's older sister's would help us make this meal as we got older...

Mrs. Conielius, Josie, makes at least 2 loaves homemade bread every day..
Oh by the way, I just learn Karla's parent's 1st names LAST YEAR DURING MY VISIT.. ... Tee Hee..
This visit, Glen will come along.
Dianne.
