Linda, Here is the classic Spinach Dip Recipe in our Appetizer Category List. If you're looking for a lower calorie, fat, cholesterol version, I think you might try plain yogurt instead of sour cream and low-fat mayonnaise instead of regular. Dip, Spinach (Classic) - 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 (16-ounce) container sour cream (or plain yogurt)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (or low-fat mayonnaise)
- 1 package Knorr® Vegetable Soup and Recipe Mix
- 1 (8-ounce) can chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 3 scallions, chopped
- In a medium bowl, combine and stir all ingredients until well mixed.
- Cover and chill for 2 hours to blend flavors.
- Serve with veggies in a scooped out loaf of round bread, if desired.

Here's a nice, healthy variation on the Classic: Dip, Spinach (Healthy) - 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 medium yellow bell pepper, cut into strips
- 6 cups assorted fresh vegetables
- 1 round loaf of thick, dense bread, top sliced off, center holowed out OR a hollowed out red bell pepper
DIP: - 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 cup nonfat sour cream
- 1 cup nonfat cottage cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon EACH salt and black pepper
- To prepare dip, in a blender or food processor, combine the spinach and sour cream. Process until smooth.
- In a medium bowl, combine the rest of the dip ingredients with the spinach mixture.
- Transfer dip to a small serving bowl, a hollowed out red bell pepper or the prepared bread loaf. Place in the center of a large serving platter. Arrange vegetables around dip. Serve immediately.
