looking for recipe for escalloped or scalloped apples had it once it was wonderful and would love to have it again.

 Here are 5 Scalloped Apple recipes I found.  If none of them fit the bill, let me know and I will keep looking.  Your Devoted Recipe Seeker, Milhouse.
 
Scalloped Apples
  • 10 cups sliced peeled tart apples (about 8 medium)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, cubed
  1. Place apples in 2-1/2 quart microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Combine the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples and toss to coat. Dot with butter.
  3. Cover and microwave on high for 15 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring every 5 minutes.

Serves 8

Scalloped Apples With Raisins (Grilled)

  • 2 (20-ounce) cans apple slices, drained
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup bown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut In small pieces
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)
  1. Prepare a medium fire in the barbeque. In a large bowl, toss apples with raisins and lemon juice. Place apple slices on a double thickness of 18-inch square heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, cloves and butter; sprinkle over apple mixture. fold edges over and crimp to seal.
  3. Place foil package on a grill set 4 to 6 inches from coals. Cook, turning over once or twice, until heated througho, about 20 to 30 minutes. Serve over ice cream if desired. This is delicious over ice cream or simply served on its own.

Roo says: "I made this with 3 Granny Smith apples instead of canned, increased raisins to 1/2 cup, and added a dash of nutmeg. It really screams for vanilla ice cream (we were out) or some sort of crust. Increase cooking time at altitude."


Scalloped Apples w/Cranberry Sauce

  • 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced (not canned)
  • 1 can cranberry sauce, whole
  • 1 can cranberry sauce, smooth
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • dash brown sugar
  • dash cinnamon
  • 1/8 cup oatmeal

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking dish. Layer first 3 ingredients in pan, starting with the apples. Crumble together remaining ingredients and put on top of cranberry mixture.  Bake 45 minutes.  Serves 10

Scalloped Apples

  • 6 tart apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups bread crumbs
  1. Peel and slice apples. Mix apples, sugar and spices.
  2. Melt butter and pour over bread crumbs. Place layer of apples in buttered casserole, then bread crumbs. Alternate layers, ending with crumbs on top.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
  4. Serve with pork chops or ham. Put some whipped cream on it and serve it as a dessert.

Scalloped Apples    

  • 1 (20-ounce) can Michigan Apple slices
  • 1 (21-ounce) can  Michigan Apple Pie Filling
  • 3/4 cup canned whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  1. Combine all ingredients. Place in 1-1/2-quart casserole dish or 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees F. about 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated and bubbly around edges.
  3. Serve hot with poultry, meat or fish.

Serves 10 (1/2 cup each)  Calories: 170, Fat: 2 g, Cholesterol: 0 mg, Sodium: 49 mg

Thank you so much.  It was getting pretty expensive to keep getting the Stouffers especially now that I have turned my family on to them.
