Story:

Hi to everyone, My nickmane is Eats-Alone, that alone explains why I don't like to cook.  I am tolded I am a excellent cook, but right now I have no one to cook for. I was married, I have one son, who has 2 sons.  I get to see them for 6 mos. in the summer as I go Florida in the winter.  I have a cat, he is 15 yrs. old.  His name is Ashey.  He has more frequent flier miles than anyother cat.  I just recently got my computer, was nosing around and found the recipe sites.  I think this is a great idea.  I am interested in diebetic recipes mostly.  Contact me by e-mail if you care to.  [email protected].  Thanks, Bye

Story:

My name is Aiele, and I am a high school teacher with three.....yes three....teenage boys.  Needless to say even if I wanted to cook I don't have much time, as teaching is a 24/7 job....and my principal believes school comes before family.....or so it seems since she tends to call on the  spur of the momment meetings frequently.  So I need help in finding good and quick recipes to feed the bottomless pits my sons have become. Thanks for letting me join.

Headline: Love this site!!

Story:

Hello, my name is Danielle (but, you can call me Dani!)  I'm from Michigan and I just joined this Community on the Labor Day weekend.  I was surfing the Net for a particular basting sauce for babyback ribs, and I happened upon this site by accident - McClug was so helpful, and quick to respond, I couldn't believe it!

I'm married, with a sixteen year-old daughter, and I actually love to cook (but, only in the winter months - I hate cooking in the summer, when it's hot and there's so many other things I'd rather be doing!)    Therefore, I'm interested in summer-type meals (barbecues, chicken and fruit salads, crockpot ideas, etc), that have a minimum in fuss, but a maximum in taste.  I look forward to getting to know everyone in here, and sharing and swapping recipes with each other.

Headline: Just joined!

Story:

Hi! I just joined and it looks like a great group! I HATE to cook and always have! I do cook on occasion, but when I do, my boyfriend says to 'take a picture.' His mom says 'it's amazing' and 'should I faint now or later?' hehe I know that I am a good cook, but I just HATE it!!

Anyway, I live in Oregon with my boyfriend, Rodger, our two dogs, Bear and Lucky, and our turtle, Tordie. He has two grown children (23 and 25) and two grands (1 and 3). I never had kids and can't have them.

Story:

I am the mother of 3 grown daughters and a 3 year old grandson, Jonathan. I have always loved being in the kitchen, baking and cooking. I am notthe greatest cook in the world but I do love to bake. I am putting together a cookbook for my family and friends that will hopefully be ready by spring. I work as a Customer Service Manager in a family owned grocery chain in the Ohio valley. I work a long days and don't have much time to cook or bake except on my days off. I have hundreds of cook books that I sit and read them as if they were a novel. This is a great site. I always look forward to the news letters. Thanks!

Headline: SOLOMOMOF5 NEEDS HELP!!!!!

Story:

Hi!  I'm Jessica, and I live in the state of WA.  I have 5 beautiful wonderful children (4 by my ex) and 1 by a different man who's not in our lives as well.  I am so busy to cook for my children so hamburger helper it is for the most part.  Makes me feel pretty guilty that I'm not Ms Betty Homemaker.  I work full time as an online travel agent, work on the weekends selling tools, go to school in the evening finishing up my last qrtr of Medical Transcriptionist, and working overtime at my full time job.  Do I spend lots of time with my children...unfortunately no.  I am very independant and don't rely on my children's fathers for anything, so I have no time to cook for my children.  I would like to impress them and show them that I can be like the moms that their friends have--which is Ms Betty Homemaker for the most part.  I would really appreciate yummy nutricious meals and desserts that I could whip up for my kids.  Thank you and thanks for this wonderful website that I just happened to come across!  Thanks McClug!  Great sense of humor and something to read while I'm not helping people on the website when I'm working!  Have a nice day!  Jessica

Headline: Keep it simple stupid

Story:

I'm not stupid, just darn busy.  So the easier the cooking prep the better.  I like fresh whole food recipes with not alot of ingredients.  I love organic foods because not only do they taste better, they are supposed to be better, nutritionally.  The only drawback is you have to visit the market frequently to get your fresh food.  But to me it's worth it.

Headline: Lifelong Tomboy

Story:

My mother was the queen of the kitchen, and she did not allow my younger sister and I to do anything in that room.  Well, we had to wash the dishes and clean it.  My younger sister eventually learned from our paternal grandmother, but I never had an interest in cooking.  There's always something else better to do, like roller skating or shopping in book stores.  However, I can't afford to eat out every day.  Also, I can't always mooch off of relatives who actually like to cook--they have become hip to my game.  Once in awhile, I break down and go grocery shopping.  I try to make things that are easy and quick--I have boxing and martial classes to get to!
