Headline: SOLOMOMOF5 NEEDS HELP!!!!!

Story:

Hi!  I'm Jessica, and I live in the state of WA.  I have 5 beautiful wonderful children (4 by my ex) and 1 by a different man who's not in our lives as well.  I am so busy to cook for my children so hamburger helper it is for the most part.  Makes me feel pretty guilty that I'm not Ms Betty Homemaker.  I work full time as an online travel agent, work on the weekends selling tools, go to school in the evening finishing up my last qrtr of Medical Transcriptionist, and working overtime at my full time job.  Do I spend lots of time with my children...unfortunately no.  I am very independant and don't rely on my children's fathers for anything, so I have no time to cook for my children.  I would like to impress them and show them that I can be like the moms that their friends have--which is Ms Betty Homemaker for the most part.  I would really appreciate yummy nutricious meals and desserts that I could whip up for my kids.  Thank you and thanks for this wonderful website that I just happened to come across!  Thanks McClug!  Great sense of humor and something to read while I'm not helping people on the website when I'm working!  Have a nice day!  Jessica

Headline: Keep it simple stupid

Story:

I'm not stupid, just darn busy.  So the easier the cooking prep the better.  I like fresh whole food recipes with not alot of ingredients.  I love organic foods because not only do they taste better, they are supposed to be better, nutritionally.  The only drawback is you have to visit the market frequently to get your fresh food.  But to me it's worth it.

Headline: Lifelong Tomboy

Story:

My mother was the queen of the kitchen, and she did not allow my younger sister and I to do anything in that room.  Well, we had to wash the dishes and clean it.  My younger sister eventually learned from our paternal grandmother, but I never had an interest in cooking.  There's always something else better to do, like roller skating or shopping in book stores.  However, I can't afford to eat out every day.  Also, I can't always mooch off of relatives who actually like to cook--they have become hip to my game.  Once in awhile, I break down and go grocery shopping.  I try to make things that are easy and quick--I have boxing and martial classes to get to!

Hi !  My name is Ted but everyone calls me "World Famous" because I travel 150 to 200 days per year with my job.  I'm a service manager for a company the builds railroad equipment.  I'm a 54 yr. old widower.  I was married for 20 yrs and my wife died in April of 2002.  My daughter and Granddaughter both live with me in Georgia.  I enjoy cooking and I do most of the cooking when I'm at home.  I have been a member for some time but have never gotten on the message board before or posted a profile so I thought it was about time!

I really enjoy some of the recipes that I have found in this group.  I do get to sample foods from all over the world, which is one of the benefits of my job. This is a fun site

Story:

Greetings, I'm Dianne.   I'm a professional baker in a small town familyowned bakery. We bake everything we make from stratch. EVERYTHING.  I'm a kid at 47. My husband and I have 9 kids between us. Glen had 5 when I married him, I had 2. We have 2 more. I work nights so I could be home with our kids during the day and teach music. Our kids are now all in school. I am now the full time care giver for my 90 year-old mother-in-law. The only full-time care giver.  I sleep after my families supper. Around 5:00pm. Am up every night by midnight. Many nights earlier. I try to cook all our family meals with good stuff. And, real cooking. Breakfasts for kids can be homemade premade pancakes, waffles, french toast, as I'm usually do not get home until just before they leave for school. Glen and I have 16 grandchildren.

Story:

Well there isn't much to tell about me.  I'm 79 years old (wife, 77), married 61 years, three children now in late 50s.  We spent 30 years in the U.S. Air Force in Air Traffic Control (retired May 1974).  Worked in local U.S. Postal Service sorting mail for 15 years (retired Jan. 1990).   RV'd 3months every summer since than to get out of the Arizona Desert when the temp was HIGH.  Give up the RV'ing this year to settle down and start living on the memories.

I find your web site to be very, very interesting.   This is the first time that I've looking into cooking.   And all those recipes sure look delicious!!!!   Food is one thing that I'd not a stranger to.   I love it all, except I draw the line on "rare fish".   Tried that only once when in the South Pacific on Johnston Island, HI Territory.

Headline: Hello, I am Pat and in need of help!

Story:

I am a 55 year old busy lady working full time in management in banking.  No time to cook, but want to do so anyway.  In need of easy, quick, delicious one-pot meals to fix for my husband who is also in banking.  We are so busy, we sometimes grab a bite at 9:00 PM which is not healthy for either of us or just bring something home after work.  Want to cook, just don't have the time.  When we first got married in 1995, I did cook, but jobs got more involved, we moved, etc.  Just got out of the habit and now it is hard to get back.  Help!
