Story:

Greetings, I'm Dianne.   I'm a professional baker in a small town familyowned bakery. We bake everything we make from stratch. EVERYTHING.  I'm a kid at 47. My husband and I have 9 kids between us. Glen had 5 when I married him, I had 2. We have 2 more. I work nights so I could be home with our kids during the day and teach music. Our kids are now all in school. I am now the full time care giver for my 90 year-old mother-in-law. The only full-time care giver.  I sleep after my families supper. Around 5:00pm. Am up every night by midnight. Many nights earlier. I try to cook all our family meals with good stuff. And, real cooking. Breakfasts for kids can be homemade premade pancakes, waffles, french toast, as I'm usually do not get home until just before they leave for school. Glen and I have 16 grandchildren.

Story:

Well there isn't much to tell about me.  I'm 79 years old (wife, 77), married 61 years, three children now in late 50s.  We spent 30 years in the U.S. Air Force in Air Traffic Control (retired May 1974).  Worked in local U.S. Postal Service sorting mail for 15 years (retired Jan. 1990).   RV'd 3months every summer since than to get out of the Arizona Desert when the temp was HIGH.  Give up the RV'ing this year to settle down and start living on the memories.

I find your web site to be very, very interesting.   This is the first time that I've looking into cooking.   And all those recipes sure look delicious!!!!   Food is one thing that I'd not a stranger to.   I love it all, except I draw the line on "rare fish".   Tried that only once when in the South Pacific on Johnston Island, HI Territory.

Headline: Hello, I am Pat and in need of help!

Story:

I am a 55 year old busy lady working full time in management in banking.  No time to cook, but want to do so anyway.  In need of easy, quick, delicious one-pot meals to fix for my husband who is also in banking.  We are so busy, we sometimes grab a bite at 9:00 PM which is not healthy for either of us or just bring something home after work.  Want to cook, just don't have the time.  When we first got married in 1995, I did cook, but jobs got more involved, we moved, etc.  Just got out of the habit and now it is hard to get back.  Help!

Story:

Hi there everyone!  As you can see I have a big family with 7 children and 14 grandchildren and any help in the kitchen is a plus.  I haven't been here long and this is actually the first time I have been able to sit down and tell you a little about myself.

I also enjoy sewing, quilting and outdoors activities, lately though I have been at my machine sewing, and my rack quilting.  Had a wedding to prepare for and gifts to make, finally thru and wanted to introduce myself.

I am from Louisiana, age 46, be 47 on the 11th of this month, next week to be exact, married, of course, and a house full of family as I have already told you about.

Am looking forward to going thru the site now and getting involved in some of the activities, so hope to talk with you all soon.  Glad to be here.

Story:

Hi everyone!  I'm Gina, in Atlanta.  I'm a 33 year old single mom of a great little 7 year old boy named Taye.  When we get some free time, we both like to conduct "experiments" in the kitchen.  His current culinary masterpiece at the moment is Grilled Cheese.  And he gets to be my guinea pig for whatever interesting things I come across on the lists.

I love cooking and great food, but my real passion is collecting vintage cookbooks from old over the world.  My collection is well on it's way past 200 now with no end in sight for the foreseeable future.

I'm glad to be part of this great list and community and hope you will all like some of my favorite recipes that I'll be sharing.

I live in Maryland - just 2 miles to Washington, DC. I am widowed and I have a son, daughter-in-law and my granddaughter Angelina - who just turned 3 and #2 granddaughter due in about 4 weeks - her name will be Gabrile Jadyn. I LOVE the color purple. Teddy bears and Angels. I have a great boyfriend and I work full-time as an
office manager. I always bake from scratch - I learned from my grandmother
and mom. I love to read, Nora Roberts, JD Robb, Catherine Anderson and
Debbie Maccomber. I am so happy that I discovered "groups" I haven't had
so much enjoyment from reading about others and enjoying the "siggy's" and
the great graphics. I hope to soon learn how to post some recipes. Mary

Story:

Hello,

My name is Heidi and I have a four month old daughter and I am already worried about what I will feed her when she gets older.  I am 35 and she came as quit a surprise to me, because I was told I could not have kids.  Well that not being the case anymore I now want to make sure that when she gets older she has good meals to sit down to every night that will also help in making memories for her for when she grows up and has a family of her own.  I wont to be able to pass on to her my recipies.  My own mother has long since passed away and so I dont have her to call on for help.  So if anyone can help me with ideas on different things to fix I would greatly appreciate it.  I have no imagination and did not cook a lot before she came, we went out to eat, but that will no longer be the case as I want to make dinner time, family time.  Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Heidi

Headline: Hello!

Story: Hi, I'm Rosie I'm 27 years old and have a 3 year old little boy named Bj. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for the last 5 years. Although I consider myself a "competent" cook, I'd really like to start cooking more. I only have a hand full of recipes that I use which has become extremely boring. I hadn't realized that we spent so much money eating out until we reviewed our budget last month. We are expecting to purchase a nice family car next month for our hopefully expanding family. And I was shocked to realize we had about $800.00 dollars a month disappearing a month mostly to eating out. I enjoy cooking just really don't know how. In the hopes of saving money and spending some well deserved family time around the dinner table I've joined!

Story:

Hello, The idea of being a non-cook is so funny!  We are all cooks at one time or another.  Maybe not good ones, but cooks non-the-less!  I try not order out a lot these days, as I love to cook - there just seems to not be a enough time to cook the great meals we all enjoy and wish we could have on a regular basis.  I take care of my fiance who had a brain aneurysm in 1997 and I work online.  I have several online shops but the main one is EileensEshop.com.  I hope I don't get in trouble for encluding that!  I have wanted to add recipes to my site for some time as I have a ton of them to share.  When my daugher was growing up I took every cooking class around where they would allow her to come with me.  I wanted her to know her way around a kitchen, and she certainly does.  The problem is, she has a sweet 4 year old and one on the way now too.  She does not cook much, her adoring husband has a good job and takes her to dinner most of the time.  Lucky girl!  Of course, she does go to college and most of the year works part time, so she does have her hands full.  But, you know what?  Everybody does.  Do you know anyone who has time to spare?  There simply is no such thing.  Spare time in this day and age is a non-thing. Completely unheard of.  Time and food.  Making time to prepare a meal is something I do everyday.  Well, I have to.  Russ has to have good well rounded meals 3 times a day.  He takes a lot of medications and needs food with all of them. So, I make time to cook.  I love it too.  When I can and it is appropriate, I order pizza and salad or oriental food.  But not as often as I would like too!  lol  We love hamburgers from a couple of the local restaurants but do not get that often either.  My kitchen is so full of cookbooks, notebooks and recipe cards it is embarrassing.  My daughter and daughter-in-law are amazed at all the things I know how to cook.  I think it is time to start giving away the cookbooks as I do not have room for more new ones and I do still buy them.  Isn't that silly?  lol  I am a real sucker for a new cookbook.  If I open one up and see even a deviation on a recipe I think I have to have it.  No kidding.  I am the queen of clutter when it comes to cookbooks!  I read them like they were novels. But to have more I will have to get rid of some.  I have cookbooks that I bought when I was in junior high school.  Maybe I could let those go now....  HA.  My relics are my favorites.  There is not much more to tell about me but if you want a bit more I have two pages - www.eileenseshopinfo.com/aboutUs that starts out on a business note but turns personal.  I also have a page on Ryze.  Have a great and blessed day.  ~Eileen Brown
